Reunion of 'Sunny' Stars: New Show 'I'm Sunny Thank You' Premieres July 5th

Actress Kang So-ra, who married an acupuncturist eight years her senior in 2020, embarks on a friendship journey with her friends.

MBC's new program 'I'm Sunny Thank You' (directed by Kim Jun-hyun) is a variety show capturing the friendship story of the 'Sunny' movie actresses as they rediscover the importance of each other through travel. Much like the movie 'Sunny,' which begins with a reunion of long-lost friends, 'I'm Sunny Thank You' will also focus on 'reunion' as the key theme, showcasing the candid and delightful stories of the 'Sunny' seven princesses in unique settings.

The announcement of 'I'm Sunny Thank You' immediately sparked massive interest. The 2011 film 'Sunny' was a huge hit, attracting 7.45 million viewers. The seven actresses who played the 'Sunny' princesses became instant stars and have maintained their cheerful (sunny) friendship for 15 years. The prospect of seeing these actresses together in a variety show has naturally heightened public interest and anticipation for 'I'm Sunny Thank You.'

On June 19, the premiere date for 'I'm Sunny Thank You' was revealed. The show will air every Saturday at 8:40 PM starting July 5th, aiming to capture both laughter and empathy in the competitive Saturday night slot.

The released poster for 'I'm Sunny Thank You' features Kang So-ra, Kim Bo-mi, Kim Min-young, and Lee Eun-ji standing together in traditional attire and accessories of an exotic location. Their bright smiles are accompanied by the caption, "Did you know? We've always been together...", hinting at the meaningful journey of friendship the show will portray, raising expectations for the broadcast.

A point of intrigue is Lee Eun-ji's participation. While Kang So-ra, Kim Bo-mi, and Kim Min-young were part of the 'Sunny' princesses, Lee Eun-ji was not in the film. Her inclusion in the journey raises curiosity about her role and how other 'Sunny' actresses will appear in 'I'm Sunny Thank You,' as well as the exotic travel destination featured in the poster.

Regarding this, the production team of 'I'm Sunny Thank You' stated, "As the poster's caption suggests, 'I'm Sunny Thank You' depicts the emotional reunion and friendship stories of true friends.
