Seohyun Shines in 'The Night I Took My First Love's First Night' Amidst Taecyeon's Unwavering Pursuit

In the third episode, which aired on the 18th, the romance between Seohyun's character, Cha Seon-chek, and Taecyeon's character, Ibeon, begins to unfold. Despite the intriguing developments, the episode saw a slight dip in viewership, recording a 2.7% nationwide rating according to Nielsen Korea, a 0.7% drop from the previous episode.
The episode opens with Ibeon in a state of panic as Cha Seon-chek faints in his arms. He quickly calls for a physician, who diagnoses her with exhaustion. Determined to help, Ibeon ventures into the mountains to find medicinal herbs, facing a tiger in the process, and successfully retrieves the precious fox bead herb for her.
Touched by Ibeon's efforts, Cha Seon-chek is reminded of her past, recalling a traumatic college experience where she was publicly shamed for being involved with a friend's boyfriend. This memory prompts her to distance herself emotionally from Ibeon, who is destined for another character, Jo Eun-ae, played by Kwon Han-sol, according to the original storyline.
Cha Seon-chek decides to bring Ibeon and Jo Eun-ae together at a literary gathering hosted by the secondary male lead, Jeong Su-gyeom, played by Seo Beom-jun. She dresses modestly to highlight Jo Eun-ae and praises her refreshments, playing her supporting role to perfection.

During a treasure hunt, Cha Seon-chek orchestrates a scenario for Jo Eun-ae to fall into Ibeon's arms, mirroring their first meeting in the original story. Yet, Ibeon ignores her, leading to Jo Eun-ae falling into a pond. Instead of helping her, Ibeon retrieves his sword, emphasizing its importance, and even points it at Jo Eun-ae, creating tension among the onlookers.
As the gathering takes an unexpected turn, Cha Seon-chek attempts to lighten the mood with a round of bomb shots. While the event regains its energy, the atmosphere shifts in unforeseen ways, with Jeong Su-gyeom's drunkenness leading Jo Eun-ae to embrace a darker persona, hinting at new romantic dynamics.
Amidst the chaos, a fire erupts from the bomb shots, turning the scene into pandemonium. Ibeon heroically rushes into the flames to save Cha Seon-chek, carrying her to safety and leaving viewers eager to see how his bold actions will impact the storyline.
The fourth episode of 'The Night I Took My First Love's First Night' airs on KBS 2TV on the 19th at 9:50 PM.
