Cho Yi-hyun Discusses Her Role as a Shaman in New Drama 'Head Over Heels'

On the 17th, an online press conference was held for tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Head Over Heels'. The event was attended by actors Cho Yi-hyun, Choo Young-woo, Cha Kang-yoon, Choo Ja-hyun, and director Kim Yong-wan.
'Head Over Heels' is based on a popular webtoon of the same name. It tells the story of a boy destined to die and an MZ generation shaman girl who tries to prevent it, exploring the unrestrained first love and romance of eighteen-year-olds. The production team promises a fresh and exciting tale of high school shaman Park Seong-ah (played by Cho Yi-hyun) who defies fate for her first love, and Gyeonwoo (played by Choo Young-woo) who finds ordinary happiness through her.
Cho Yi-hyun described her character as "a high school student by day and a shaman by night," adding, "She falls for Gyeonwoo at first sight and decides to save him from misfortune, fighting with all her might for her love."

Given the character's connection to real shamanic beliefs, Cho Yi-hyun prepared thoroughly. She stated, "There is a scene where I perform a ritual. I spent about three months learning the process and speech patterns from a real shaman consultant, which was a long and educational experience."
tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Head Over Heels' will premiere on June 23rd at 8:50 PM.
