Freelancer Kim Dae-ho Reveals Earnings After Leaving MBC
Kim Dae-ho, now five months into his freelance career after leaving MBC, has disclosed his earnings.

On the October 15th episode of KBS2's variety show 'The Boss Has Donkey Ears' (directed by Ahn Sang-eun, hereafter referred to as 'The Boss'), Kim Dae-ho appeared as a special MC and boldly declared, “I will become KBS's second son.”

In response, Jeon Hyun-moo commented, “When I became a freelancer and appeared on MBC, I said I would become MBC's son, and it eventually happened.” He added, “I acknowledge Kim Dae-ho appearing on 'Immortal Songs,' but I didn't expect him to make it to 'The Boss' as well,” expressing a hint of rivalry.

Boss Um Ji-in asked Kim Dae-ho, “How much has your appearance fee increased?” Kim replied, “I earn about the same as an announcer's salary, but you should think of it as earning that amount for each program.” Jeon Hyun-moo advised Um Ji-in to “stay close to KBS when they offer work,” preemptively discouraging her from going freelance.

Boss Um Ji-in, preparing for the 2025 presidential election broadcast, gathered her juniors for a mock broadcast, emphasizing confidence and thorough preparation. Observing this, Jeon Hyun-moo confessed, “Announcers are busiest during election, Olympics, and World Cup seasons, but I was the most free then,” adding, “I went on vacation and practiced SHINee's choreography.”

For the mock election broadcast, Um Ji-in invited veteran KBS announcers Park Ji-hyun and Kim Jin-hee to train the juniors. As mistakes from the junior announcers continued, sharp critiques from senior announcers, including Um Ji-in, followed. Kim Dae-ho agreed, saying, “The seniors' advice is spot on. It's truly invaluable guidance for the juniors.”
