Ko So-young Showcases Her Timeless Vintage Luxury Collection

Ko So-young, the renowned South Korean actress, recently flaunted her collection of luxury handbags.

On October 13, Ko So-young's YouTube channel, 'The Ko So-young,' released a video titled 'Classics Are Forever: Ko So-young's 30-Year-Old Vintage Luxury.'

In the video, Ko So-young introduced her collection of vintage luxury items that she has been accumulating for 20 to 30 years. She mentioned, "These are items I've purchased with my own money and have been using well. Trends seem to cycle every decade."

Ko proudly displayed her Hermes and Chanel bags, stating, "The colors vary slightly each season. I bought these rare items back then, and I plan to give them to my daughter or future daughter-in-law as gifts for special occasions."

She also shared her fondness for a Chanel belt from her 20s, humorously recalling how it was too loose back then but now doesn't fit, drawing laughter.

Since the opening of Chanel's store in Korea in 1997, Ko has been collecting various items like clothes, bags, and accessories. She shared, "I've always loved Chanel. My mother used to advise me to buy one good piece instead of ten cheap ones."

Ko So-young showcased gold earrings and necklaces she wore in the movie 'Beat' (1997) and the drama 'Mother's Sea' (1993), noting, "Gold prices have risen. They were 40,000 won back then, but now they're worth more than ten times that. They're a good investment."

Expressing her love for vintage, Ko said, "Buying vintage is like buying time," and showed special affection for a Hermes Kelly bag inherited from her mother.

Ko also shared a story about reclaiming a Chanel hairpin from her sister-in-law. Her mother had given it to her sister-in-law after finding it at home, but Ko explained the situation and gifted her a more expensive hairpin to get it back, ensuring there were no hard feelings.

Ko plans to pass down her vintage luxury items to her daughter and future generations. She also revealed that her husband, Jang Dong-gun, is currently into vintage jeans, turning their home into a vintage shop.

While she appreciates vintage, Ko continues to purchase new items, stating, "I try not to look or go shopping. If I still think about it after taking 100 photos and sleeping on it, I buy it." She advised young professionals, "Luxury is a luxury. Know its value, be cautious, and invest in classic items that you can preserve well."
