Yoo Jae-suk Directs Music Video for Project Group Mechanism
Renowned South Korean entertainer Yoo Jae-suk has taken on the role of director for the music video of the project group Mechanism.
On the November 11th episode of KBS2's variety show 'Problem Child in House,' members of the mixed project group Mechanism, including comedian Jo Hye-ryun and Peppertones' Lee Jang-won and Shin Jae-pyung, made an appearance.
During the show, Jo Hye-ryun mentioned Yoo Jae-suk, expressing gratitude for his significant role in forming the group. She stated, "Yoo Jae-suk proposed the formation of Mechanism and personally directed the entire music video shoot. He was like our team's assistant."
She further added, "Yoo Jae-suk holds a position at Antenna, so perhaps he wanted Peppertones, who are also under the same label, to succeed more."

Jo Hye-ryun also shared the backstory of how the group was formed. She explained, "I was at an awards ceremony under the guise of a YouTube content project when Peppertones happened to be there. Yoo Jae-suk asked me how I came to direct a play, and I replied that I knew about Mechanism because I played a mother role five years ago, which made Lee Jang-won laugh."
Continuing, Jo Hye-ryun said, "When Lee Jang-won laughed, I asked if Mechanism was incorrect, and he said, 'It's accurate.' As the conversation flowed, Yoo Jae-suk suggested, 'Why don't you two sing as Mechanism?' leading to the group's formation."

Shin Jae-pyung added, "I thought it was a joke, but then Yoo Jae-suk called and showed up with a contract." Lee Jang-won also shared, "I expected to form a team. After filming for YouTube, Jo Hye-ryun contacted me the next day, suggesting it would be good to form a team. She mentioned that issues fade quickly, so we should release music within 1-2 months, which made me nervous."

The episode also featured a quiz competition. Lee Jang-won confidently stated, "Our team will get everything right," to which Joo Woo-jae replied, "You won't get any right," sparking a playful exchange. The quiz included unique questions such as why MZ generations check birth certificates, the most sold item at a convenience store near Coldplay's concert venue, and secrets of female kangaroos, requiring creative thinking.
Faced with unexpected questions, Jo Hye-ryun, Lee Jang-won, and Shin Jae-pyung struggled, missing several opportunities. Jo Hye-ryun expressed despair, saying, "We're doomed," but Shin Jae-pyung turned the tide by correctly answering a creative math problem. Relieved, he commented, "I'm glad it was a creativity question," while Lee Jang-won added, "We maintained our brainy group reputation."
