Wavve's 'ToGetHer' Faces Controversy Ahead of Final Episode Release

Wavve's original series 'ToGetHer,' the first reality show in Korea focusing on female same-sex relationships, is set to release its final episode on the 13th, just before the contestants make their ultimate choices.

Episodes 13 and 14 depict the participants spending their last night in the 'ToGetHer House,' navigating emotional conflicts and making pivotal decisions.

Previously, contestants Mirang and Dagyo grew closer during a one-on-one date, sharing their preferences for physical affection and moments of excitement. The two were seen applying face masks on each other and sleeping in the same bed, capturing viewers' attention.

Contestants chose their final one-on-one date partners to express their true feelings. Seoyeon confessed her hidden feelings to Dagyo, while Hiyoung, who had been receiving Minwoo's affection, also approached Dagyo, hinting at a shift in dynamics.

With multiple contestants vying for Dagyo's attention, tension rose in her relationship with Mirang. On the final night, the eight participants prepared heartfelt gifts. Seoyeon offered a bracelet with her birthstone, ruby; Dagyo presented a scarf and gloves as couple items; and Hiyoung prepared a photo album to symbolize shared memories.

Previously, 'ToGetHer' faced controversy involving contestant Ri-won (Kim Ri-won), who was revealed to have appeared in adult broadcasts and was suspected of being heterosexual, contrary to the show's theme. Ri-won acknowledged the rumors, explaining that her past relationships with men occurred during a time when she struggled with her sexual identity.

As the controversy grew, the production team announced a temporary hiatus for internal review and adjustments, minimizing Ri-won's screen time while maintaining essential storylines with her consent.

Recently, conflicts among the cast surfaced, sparking further controversy. Contestant Hangyeol claimed Ri-won made an inappropriate dinner date proposal, while Minwoo accused Ri-won of leading ostracism, with the production team allegedly complicit. Jina also claimed she was ostracized, mentioning Hiyoung in the process.

Hiyoung refuted these allegations, posting a rebuttal against Minwoo and Jina, escalating the situation into a public feud. The controversy intensified when the official 'ToGetHer' account was found sharing posts about certain contestants' rumors.

Ultimately, production company Display Company issued an apology on the 12th, acknowledging the recent conflicts and controversies. They explained that the reposting of certain posts was a staff error during spoiler checks, with no intent to endorse or support the content. The posts were promptly removed, and the contestants were informed and apologized to. The company expressed sincere apologies for any discomfort and misunderstandings caused.
