Unaware of Se-ri's sinister plot, Mi-so spent a joyful day with her friend, picking out a birthday gift for her mother, Baek Seol-hee (played by Jang Shin-young). Mi-so's pride in choosing a dress and saving her first paycheck for her mother highlighted her deep affection, making the subsequent tragedy even more poignant.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Moon Tae-kyung (played by Seo Ha-jun) intensified his pursuit of truth by securing a lead on Jo Pil-doo (played by Lee Han-wi), a figure connected to his parents' case. Seol-hee's firm resolve to support Tae-kyung, insisting on handling his discharge herself, underscored their growing trust.

The climax of the episode was Se-ri's brutal act of revenge. As Mi-so headed home after receiving her pay, she was abducted by a suspicious man in an alley. Se-ri then revealed herself, taunting Mi-so with, "Yes, it's me. Aren't you glad to see me?" Her cruel assault, justified by her twisted sense of entitlement, was a stark display of her character's moral corruption. When Mi-so questioned Se-ri's shame towards her mother, Se-ri responded with violence, kicking Mi-so in the stomach and mocking her mother's birthday gift.

The scene of Mi-so lying unconscious and bloodied on the cold alley floor, with her mother's gift and phone scattered beside her, vividly illustrated the extent of Se-ri's viciousness. This harrowing moment left viewers in shock.
