Heart-Wrenching Maternal Instincts: Jang Shin-young's Emotional Performance in 'Woman Who Swallowed the Sun'

MBC's daily drama 'Woman Who Swallowed the Sun' (planned by Jang Jae-hoon, directed by Kim Jin-hyung, written by Seol Kyung-eun, produced by MBC C&I) tells the story of a woman who seeks revenge against a conglomerate in a world where victims are turned into perpetrators, all for the sake of her only daughter.
In the closing moments of episode 3, viewers were left in shock as Baek Seol-hee's (played by Jang Shin-young) daughter, Baek Mi-so (played by Lee Ru-da), was shown lying unconscious in an alley after being brutally attacked by Min Se-ri (played by Park Seo-yeon). Episode 4, airing on the 12th, will reveal Seol-hee's reaction to this tragic situation.
The released stills capture Seol-hee's desperation in the face of an urgent crisis, making it impossible to look away. The first image that draws attention is Seol-hee pleading with medical staff in a hospital corridor. Her disheveled hair, unfocused eyes, and tear-streaked face convey the dire situation her daughter Mi-so is in, tugging at the viewers' heartstrings.

Seol-hee's inability to sit properly and her vacant stare in front of the operating room further emphasize her desperate longing for her daughter's recovery, leaving a lasting impression. Notably, Seol-hee is also seen sitting alone on a bench outside the hospital, lost in thought as she clutches a piece of clothing, her expression revealing the profound sorrow over the tragic event that has befallen her daughter.
Meanwhile, episode 4 of MBC's daily drama 'Woman Who Swallowed the Sun' will air on the 12th at 7:10 PM.
