Kim Woo-bin Reveals How He Was Inspired to Pursue Acting

Actor Kim Woo-bin, who is publicly dating actress Shin Min-a, shared the story of how he embarked on his acting career.

On October 10th, the YouTube channel 'Hong Seok-cheon's Jewel Box' featured a video titled "Top Gay's Heartfelt Jewel, Kim Woo-bin."

Hong Seok-cheon opened the conversation by saying, "I've been eagerly waiting for Woo-bin, and he kept his promise to appear on the show." He continued, "Woo-bin, how do you manage to stay so consistently handsome and charming?"

In the video, Kim Woo-bin revealed why he decided to become an actor. He said, "I first met Hong Seok-cheon when I was 20 and working as a model. He was the first to tell me, 'You should be an actor.' Until then, I had never considered acting, but that was the first time I seriously thought about it."

Hong Seok-cheon reminisced, "There was a group of model juniors, but one stood out. I wanted to get to know him, so I approached him first." He added, "I deliberately went near Woo-bin, and his visuals were stunning. At that time, actors with dinosaur-like features were gaining popularity, and I discovered Woo-bin at just the right moment. I was convinced he would be a hit, so I persistently encouraged him to pursue acting."

Kim Woo-bin also talked about the roles he played in past dramas. He shared, "Looking back, I played the role of a high school student who was good at fighting about six times. I often portrayed strong, rebellious characters, which made me yearn to try romance roles."

He continued, "Fortunately, around that time, I received the script for the drama 'Uncontrollably Fond.' As soon as I read it, I felt it might be the script I had been looking for. I was happy throughout the filming and truly grateful."
