Kim Joo-ryeong's Character Transformation in 'ONE: High School Heroes'

Kim Joo-ryeong stars as Dabin, the mother of Uigyeom (played by Lee Jungha), in the Wavve original drama 'ONE: High School Heroes'.
'ONE: High School Heroes' is a high school action drama where Uigyeom, the top student oppressed by his father, and Yoonki (played by Kim Dowan), who seeks to exploit Uigyeom's natural fighting talent, form the masked 'High School Heroes' to unleash their suppressed anger and overturn the school's bullying hierarchy. In the drama, Kim Joo-ryeong first appears as Dabin, who deeply cares for her son Uigyeom but struggles to protect him from her husband Seoktae's (played by Kim Sangho) authoritarian educational methods.
Dabin is a gentle and kind mother, but she suffers from panic disorder due to the death of her eldest son, making her a powerless character. Initially, Dabin is shown grappling with worry and guilt towards Uigyeom, while battling her own trauma. However, she decides to confront her trauma and muster the courage to protect Uigyeom, signaling a change in her character.

Kim Joo-ryeong gained global attention for her role as Han Mi-nyeo in Netflix's 'Squid Game' Season 1. She has since appeared in 'Casino', 'Shining Watermelon', and 'Queen of Tears'.
Meanwhile, 'ONE: High School Heroes' is exclusively available on Wavve, with new episodes released every Friday at 11 AM.
