Park Bo-gum Unveils Villain's Identity in Thrilling Episode of 'Good Boy'

The second episode of JTBC's weekend drama 'Good Boy,' aired on the 1st, opened with Yoon Dong-joo (played by Park Bo-gum) showcasing his 'fist of justice.' The episode recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 5.3% and 5.6% in the metropolitan area, according to Nielsen Korea.

The mission against Geumtokki was a resounding success. Yoon Dong-joo, under the media spotlight, humbly stated, "I'm just a cop. We have to catch the bad guys." Go Man-sik, seeing potential in Yoon Dong-joo, persuaded Chief Jo Pan-yeol (played by Kim Eung-soo) to form a team of medalists. Jo Pan-yeol, who was pushing for a new weapons project, announced the launch of a special task force under the guise of combating heinous crimes in Inseong City.
However, the special task force, believed to be the 'return of heroes,' faced unexpected challenges. The Geumtokki case was handed over to the detective division, and the 'important task' assigned by the chief was merely attending a demonstration of new equipment. The team was used as a 'PR team' rather than a special task force. Ji Han-na (played by Kim So-hyun), frustrated by being used for image-making, resigned after a bold stunt at the demonstration, shooting a rubber bullet at the chief's chest while wearing a bulletproof vest.
The special task force, already in crisis, needed to prove its capabilities. The opportunity came quickly. Go Man-sik, learning that a thug who broke into Ji Han-na's house was among those attempting to flee the country, set out with Yoon Dong-joo and Shin Jae-hong (played by Tae Won-seok). Kim Jong-hyun (played by Lee Sang-yi), who initially refused to join the task force, also stepped in to help. However, an unexpected twist changed the course of events. Go Man-sik, nervous, accidentally consumed a highly refined new drug, mistaking it for candy. In a hallucinated state, he bit Yoon Dong-joo's ear, mistaking him for the chief, causing chaos.
To make matters worse, Kim Jong-hyun was stabbed during a standoff, triggering his past trauma as a fencing athlete. Go Man-sik, still under the influence and bleeding profusely, threw himself into the fray. With the ambulance stuck in traffic, Yoon Dong-joo ran over 30 minutes barefoot, pushing Go Man-sik in a shopping cart. Touched by his dedication, Go Man-sik expressed gratitude with shoes and supplements. Trust and warmth began to blossom within the struggling special task force, raising hopes for a true 'team' to emerge.
The episode also revealed the identity of Inseong City's biggest villain. Behind an ordinary facade, he hid a chilling side. To shift the blame for a hit-and-run accident, he subtly pressured Lee Kyung-il (played by Lee Jung-ha), tightening the noose with calm, calculated words. "If you confess, it's a maximum of three years; if not, over ten years. Nod if you understand," he said, leaving Lee Kyung-il terrified. Witnessing his cherished boxing junior's confession, Yoon Dong-joo was enraged.
Finally, Yoon Dong-joo identified the villain he needed to catch. At the funeral of the hit-and-run victim, he noticed a gold watch that matched the one worn by the perpetrator. He quickly secured the guest list and compared it with customs officers, narrowing down the faces in his memory. His search led him to Min Joo-young (played by Oh Jung-se), who met Yoon Dong-joo's intense gaze with a calm demeanor. The 'Bad Boy' Min Joo-young's true nature was revealed, and the determined 'Good Boy' Yoon Dong-joo recognized his target.
'Good Boy' airs every Saturday at 10:40 PM and Sunday at 10:30 PM, and is available to viewers worldwide on Amazon Prime Video.
