Cho Yi-hyun, Choo Young-woo, and Cha Kang-yoon Ignite Romance in Upcoming tvN Drama 'Head Over Heels'

The new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Head Over Heels' (directed by Kim Yong-wan, written by Yang Ji-hoon, planned by CJ ENM, produced by Studio Dragon, Dexter Pictures, and Eocon Content Group) is scheduled to premiere this June. On the 21st, the production team released still cuts featuring the perfect chemistry and visuals of Cho Yi-hyun, Choo Young-woo, and Cha Kang-yoon.
'Head Over Heels' is based on a popular webtoon of the same name and tells the story of a boy destined to die and an MZ generation shaman girl who tries to prevent it. The drama promises to deliver a refreshing first love rescue romance of eighteen-year-olds. The story revolves around high school shaman Park Seong-ah (played by Cho Yi-hyun), who defies fate for her first love, and Bae Gyeon-woo (played by Choo Young-woo), who seeks to reverse his destiny through the ordinary happiness she opens up for him. Director Kim Yong-wan, known for 'The Guest,' 'The Cursed,' and 'If You Wish Upon Me,' teams up with writer Yang Ji-hoon for this project.
Cho Yi-hyun portrays 'Park Seong-ah,' a high school student by day and a shaman by night, exuding a charming and bold appeal. From the moment Bae Gyeon-woo, who perfectly matches her taste, walks into the temple backward, Park Seong-ah becomes a human talisman dedicated to warding off misfortune for him, embarking on a mission to protect her first love.
Choo Young-woo, who gained popularity through 'Trauma Center' and 'The Tale of Mrs. Ok,' transforms into 'Bae Gyeon-woo,' a character born with a fate of death and constantly plagued by misfortune. Despite his rough exterior, he is kind and warm-hearted, and after meeting high school shaman Park Seong-ah, he begins to experience changes in his life.
Cha Kang-yoon plays 'Pyo Ji-ho,' who fights alongside Park Seong-ah to change Bae Gyeon-woo's fate. Initially uninterested in romance or others, Pyo Ji-ho becomes close to Park Seong-ah due to her honesty and openness. As he witnesses his 'best friend' Park Seong-ah's efforts to save Bae Gyeon-woo, he starts to feel unfamiliar emotions and undergoes a transformation. Cha Kang-yoon, who has shown his presence in 'Graduation,' 'Someday Wise Resident Life,' and 'The Art of Negotiation,' is expected to captivate viewers with his portrayal of 'Pyo Ji-ho.'
As anticipation builds for the synergy between Cho Yi-hyun, Choo Young-woo, and Cha Kang-yoon in completing this first love rescue romance, the stills of the 'Hwamok High Trio'—Park Seong-ah, Bae Gyeon-woo, and Pyo Ji-ho—released on this day pique curiosity. Captured in the classroom, Park Seong-ah appears as an ordinary high school girl, but her mysterious gaze suggests the extraordinary aura of a 'heavenly fairy.'
The striking visuals of archery prodigy Bae Gyeon-woo, whom Park Seong-ah falls for at first sight, also draw attention. His expressionless face reflects his resilience from battling misfortune for so long, making him unfazed by most things. It raises curiosity about how meeting Park Seong-ah will change him. Pyo Ji-ho's affectionate smile as he watches Park Seong-ah heightens the excitement and curiosity about their relationship. Will Park Seong-ah, Bae Gyeon-woo, and Pyo Ji-ho be able to ward off misfortune and protect their first love? The story of these characters defying fate is eagerly awaited.
Cho Yi-hyun shared her thoughts on reuniting with Choo Young-woo after three years, saying, "I was able to create a good synergy with Choo Young-woo again. The chemistry with Cha Kang-yoon, whom I worked with for the first time, was also great. He is bright and considerate, and we quickly became close, making the filming enjoyable." Choo Young-woo also expressed his anticipation, stating, "Having previously worked with Joy Hyun, I relied on her a lot on set." He further mentioned that his chemistry with Cha Kang-yoon was excellent, adding, "He is a younger brother with a playful personality, and we quickly became close. It was always enjoyable to meet on set."
Cha Kang-yoon commented, "The chemistry between Cho Yi-hyun and Choo Young-woo was already perfect, so I just needed to blend in well. Thanks to their guidance and support, our teamwork was great." He also expressed gratitude, saying, "Cho Yi-hyun created a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. The chemistry between Seong-ah and Ji-ho was well-developed. Choo Young-woo also helped me portray the character 'Pyo Ji-ho' more interestingly."
