Kim Ji-hoon's portrayal of Lee Jeong's multifaceted character, with a sharp gaze yet a warm heart, resonated with viewers. Lee Jeong showed genuine concern for Yoon Gap, who was injured while carrying out a mission for him, and ordered his treatment. However, he remained suspicious of Yeori, played by Kim Ji-yeon, whom Yoon Gap brought to the palace. Kim Ji-hoon captivated audiences with his portrayal of a gentle yet authoritative ruler, leaving viewers intrigued by his enigmatic expressions.

The scenes with the shaman Yeori added a layer of tension. Lee Jeong, who brought Yeori into the palace as a glasses artisan, appeared impressed by her skills but also demonstrated his extensive knowledge of glasses, surprising those around him. Even after granting Yeori's plea to stay in the palace, he remained wary, noting, "It's suspicious that Yoon Gap brought her here now."

Lee Jeong's secrets began to unravel. He meticulously ensured that the crown prince's long-standing madness remained hidden from outsiders and attempted to deceive the queen dowager, played by Han Soo-yeon, who sensed something amiss during her visit. This intrigue left viewers curious about the truths Lee Jeong is concealing.

Kim Ji-hoon skillfully portrays both the monarch Lee Jeong, who is troubled by the need to set his country right, and the father Lee Jeong, who struggles to resolve the misfortunes befalling his family, heightening anticipation for the unfolding story.
