SBS Drama 'Royal Palace' Unveils Intriguing Plot with Yook Sung-jae as the Enigmatic 'Flower Boy Clerk'

'Royal Palace' is a fantasy romantic comedy about Yeori, a shaman who rejects her fate as a medium, and Kang Cheol, an Imoogi trapped in the body of Yeori's first love, Yoon Gap. They encounter a vengeful spirit, leading to a tangled battle of souls.
In the first episode, Kang Cheol (played by Kim Young-kwang) possesses the body of Yoon Gap (played by Yook Sung-jae), Yeori's first love, setting the stage for a captivating romance. Kang Cheol, an Imoogi who failed to become a dragon, dreams of ascending with the help of Yeori, a pure-hearted shaman. However, Yeori, who believes Kang Cheol brought misfortune, carries a spirit-repelling stone given by her late grandmother and harbors resentment towards him. After 13 years of a tumultuous relationship, Yeori returns to her hometown at Yoon Gap's invitation, only for him to be killed in a political attack. Witnessing this, Kang Cheol possesses Yoon Gap's body to remove the spirit-repelling stone from Yeori, leaving viewers eager to see what unfolds.

Yeori's uneasy expression is also captured. Faced with the irony of seeing her nemesis Kang Cheol in her first love's face, her next steps are highly anticipated. Meanwhile, mysterious incidents plague the palace, including the crown prince's unexplained madness. The sight of Kang Cheol and Yeori staring in fear at something in the palace backyard further heightens curiosity about their fate.
'Royal Palace' airs its second episode tonight at 9:50 PM.
