Actor Ha Jung-woo Misses 'Lobby' Events Due to Emergency Appendicitis Surgery

Distributor Showbox announced on the 25th, "This is the 'Lobby' team. Director and actor Ha Jung-woo had to undergo emergency surgery for acute appendicitis while en route to attend official schedules today."
They continued, "Although Director and Actor Ha Jung-woo was eager to attend the events, the medical opinion deemed it difficult, making it unavoidable for him to miss today's press screening, press conference, stage greetings, and empathy counseling event for 'Lobby.' We sincerely apologize to the journalists, film industry professionals, and audience members attending the movie today." They added, "All events will proceed as planned with other cast members, except for Ha Jung-woo's absence." They concluded by saying, "We ask for your understanding and wish for Ha Jung-woo's speedy recovery."

Regarding the interviews scheduled for a few days later, the 'Lobby' team stated, "We will decide after today's surgery, and since the director is eager, we will contact you again tomorrow."
'Lobby' tells the story of Chang-wook (played by Ha Jung-woo), a startup CEO who knows nothing but research, as he embarks on his first lobbying golf game to secure a 4 trillion won national project. This film marks Ha Jung-woo's third directorial work following 'Fasten Your Seatbelt' (2013) and 'Chronicle of a Blood Merchant' (2015). Ha Jung-woo also stars in the film alongside Kim Eui-sung, Kang Hae-rim, Lee Dong-hwi, Park Byung-eun, Kang Mal-geum, Choi Si-won, Cha Joo-young, Park Hae-soo, and Kwak Sun-young. It is set to be released on April 2.
'Acute appendicitis' is an inflammation of the appendix at the end of the cecum, commonly known as 'appendicitis.'
