Ayumi from Sugar Opens Up About Second Child Plans and Postpartum Challenges

On the October 12th episode of TV CHOSUN's 'Perfect Life,' singer Ayumi made an appearance.
Ayumi gave birth to her daughter, Se-a, in June of last year. When asked if her daughter calls her 'mom,' she replied, "I think she says 'mom' without knowing what it means."
Having had her first child at 39, Ayumi confessed, "I feel aches and pains everywhere." She further revealed, "After giving birth, I gained weight, which led to high cholesterol levels. I developed plantar fasciitis due to the weight, and it hasn't healed yet."
Ayumi, who gained 20kg during pregnancy, said, "I lost 10kg after giving birth, but the remaining 10kg won't come off. I want to be as slim as before, but extreme dieting would drain my energy and make it hard to raise my baby. I joined the show to achieve a toned and beautiful body."

When her 'parenting partner' husband returned from work, Ayumi was more excited than her daughter. Kwon Ki-beom prepared inari sushi for Ayumi, and while watching their daughter, he suggested, "Se-a is so adorable, don't you want another one? Making inari sushi makes me want a second child." He expressed his desire for a son, saying, "It would be nice to have a son to play catch with." However, Ayumi responded, "I still haven't lost the swelling from Se-a's birth. Let's talk about it again once I'm healthy and fit." Her husband playfully insisted, "Eat the inari sushi I made and let's have a second child."
In the studio, panelists asked Ayumi about her thoughts on having a second child. Ayumi candidly admitted, "Se-a is so cute that it makes me think about having another."
Ayumi met her husband through a mutual acquaintance. She shared, "When we met, it felt like I was with an old friend. Our conversations were fun, and I thought we had similar tastes and would get along well. We saw each other every day for a month, and then we decided to date. We got married eight months later." When asked what she liked about her husband, she replied, "He's reliable, has an older brother vibe, and we have great chemistry."
Ayumi debuted in 2002 as a member of the group Sugar. She married businessman Kwon Ki-beom, who is two years her senior, in October 2022, and they welcomed their daughter in June of last year.
