Song Il-gook Shares Updates on His Triplets and Life After 'Superman Returns'

Song Il-gook, who previously lived in Songdo, gained fame for showcasing his parenting life with his triplets on the popular show 'Superman Returns.' He mentioned, "We don't live here anymore because my wife moved for her job," adding humorously, "Back then, the area was underdeveloped with many unsold apartments. I think our show helped solve that issue." Song Il-gook married judge Jung Seung-yeon in 2008 and welcomed their triplets in 2012.
After rising to stardom with the 2006 historical drama 'Jumong,' Song Il-gook took a break from TV. Heo Young-man jokingly asked, "What have you been doing since you disappeared from TV? Are you living off your wife's income?" Song Il-gook replied, "I was busy with parenting," and confidently added, "No matter how little I earn, it's still more than my wife."
Song Il-gook revealed that although he hasn't been on TV, he has been performing in theater productions and auditioning for roles, albeit with limited success.
Reflecting on his first meeting with his wife, Song Il-gook shared, "A journalist introduced us. She stood me up twice, even when 'Jumong' had over 40% viewership. I was curious and met her out of spite, but I ended up liking her."
Song Il-gook spoke about his father-in-law, who lived with his elderly mother and was a high-ranking executive. "He would hold family meetings on payday, and my mother-in-law would distribute the salary," he said. When Heo Young-man praised his father-in-law, Song Il-gook humorously added, "After marriage, my respect shifted to my father-in-law." He playfully sent love to his wife and in-laws.
Praising his wife's linguistic skills, Song Il-gook said, "She's such a foodie that she learned French to go to Paris for a culinary trip during her judicial training. She wrote her master's thesis in German and is fluent in five languages, including Japanese."

He humorously confessed, "We can't afford to feed them Korean beef. Once, my wife took them to a beef restaurant, and Dae-han asked, 'What kind of meat is this? I've never tasted it before.' My wife just said, 'This place is good.'"
The triplets have grown tall, with Song Il-gook noting, "Dae-han and Min-guk take after their mom, but Man-se is just like me. He gets distracted easily when studying," bringing laughter to the conversation.
