Song Il-gook Calls His Triplets' TV Appearance 'The Best Gift of My Life'

Song Il-gook, known as the 'Triplets' Dad,' has described his sons' TV appearances as 'the best gift of my life.'

On the October 10th episode of KBS2's variety show 'Car Wash JANG,' Song Il-gook appeared as a guest alongside band Xdinary Heroes' Juyeon, who was working part-time on the show.

During the episode, Song Il-gook shared his honest feelings about his triplets' TV appearances. When asked by Jang Min-ho if he ever regretted letting his triplets appear on TV, Song Il-gook replied, "I actually worried more before the show aired." He added, "Back then, I felt physically exhausted, but now those broadcast videos are the best gift of my life."

Song Il-gook, who once dreamed of having daughters, revealed, "I even had names picked out. I wanted to have twin daughters and name them 'Uri' and 'Nara.'" When asked by Jang Sung-kyu if he was still planning for more children, Song Il-gook responded, "My wife almost died giving birth to our kids. My mother-in-law said, 'No more from my daughter.'"

Song Il-gook also shared a humorous anecdote about receiving underwear as a birthday gift from his mother-in-law every year. "She gives me white underwear. It's comfortable," he said. When asked if he wears them often, Song Il-gook joked, "I'm wearing them now. Do you want me to show you?" as he playfully pretended to lower his pants, causing laughter.

Song Il-gook also showcased his chatty side, noting that the 'Car Wash JANG' hosts have a knack for making guests feel at ease. "It's been a while since I've talked so much without drinking," he said. He was praised as one of South Korea's 'talk representatives,' ending the show on a warm note.

'Car Wash JANG' is a unique talk show where celebrities hand-wash cars while sharing memories and updates about their lives. It airs every Monday at 9:45 PM on KBS2.
