Gong Hyo-jin Shares Emotional Proposal Story with Kevin Oh

Gong Hyo-jin recently opened up about her emotional reaction to Kevin Oh's proposal, despite initial disappointment.

On the YouTube show 'Jjanhyung Shin Dong-yup,' episode 74 titled 'Gong Hyo-jin Lee Min-ho {Jjanhyung} EP. 74,' Gong Hyo-jin and Lee Min-ho, stars of the tvN weekend drama 'Ask the Stars,' appeared as guests.

Gong Hyo-jin married singer Kevin Oh, who is ten years her junior, in a private ceremony in New York in 2022. Kevin Oh enlisted in the army in December 2022 and is expected to be discharged in June 2025. Gong Hyo-jin has expressed her affection for Kevin Oh on various occasions, saving his contact as 'My Angel' in her phone and referring to him as 'Angel.'

During the show, Gong Hyo-jin shared her thoughts on her husband, Kevin Oh. She expressed her longing, saying, "Being a military wife makes the newlywed phase even more intense. I find myself crying every time we part." When asked if she had visited him, she replied, "Yes, I've visited. I even have to pick him up for outings as family members are required to do so."

Gong Hyo-jin also recounted the proposal story, saying, "It was near the Bukhan River. One day, he suggested we take the dog for a walk. We ate burgers and played near the river. He said he bought a camera and was testing it. I thought he was just filming. Suddenly, he asked, 'Do you marry me?' without a ring or anything. I told him, 'Do it again later. This doesn't count.' I was disappointed."

She continued, "When we got home, he had prepared everything. There was confetti and a series of ten story cards on the way up. As I read each one, I cried. He's a great writer, with a beginning, middle, and end, and he included our photos and drawings." She added, "When I opened the door and went inside, he suddenly gave me a ring."

Gong Hyo-jin humorously advised, "Disappointment was the key. Start with disappointment when proposing." She recalled, "I didn't expect to cry. I wondered, 'Why am I crying?' and thought about how to react, but I cried a lot."
