Anticipation Builds for Chemistry Between Ryeoun and Lee Jin-woo in 'Namib'
Premiering on the 23rd, the Genie TV original drama 'Namib' features Ryeoun as Yoo Jin-woo, a long-time trainee, and Lee Jin-woo as Shim Jin-woo, a late-deafened individual. The two characters are set to grow together as close friends.
In the drama, Yoo Jin-woo (played by Ryeoun) is a talented trainee who repeatedly fails to debut and is eventually let go by his agency. Struggling to pay off debts borrowed by his estranged parents and make ends meet, he takes on various jobs, eventually becoming the bodyguard for Shim Jin-woo (played by Lee Jin-woo), the son of his former agency's CEO, Kang Soo-hyun (played by Go Hyun-jung).
Shim Jin-woo, who becomes guarded by Yoo Jin-woo, lost his hearing due to an incident and is bullied at school. His mother, Kang Soo-hyun, hires Yoo Jin-woo to protect him, but Shim Jin-woo feels burdened by her actions and dreams of escaping his parents' shadow.
Despite sharing the same name, Yoo Jin-woo and Shim Jin-woo have different dreams, circumstances, and relationships with their parents. However, they are connected through Kang Soo-hyun, influencing each other's lives. The drama raises curiosity about whether these two friends and allies can achieve their dreams together.
The teamwork between Ryeoun (as Yoo Jin-woo) and Lee Jin-woo (as Shim Jin-woo) is also drawing attention. Ryeoun praised Lee Jin-woo, saying, "He is polite, full of charm, and very cute," and expressed admiration for his attention to detail and kindness.
Lee Jin-woo reciprocated the admiration, describing Ryeoun as a "reliable older brother" and recalling an action scene during filming where Ryeoun appeared heroic and impressive, hinting at the friendly atmosphere on set.
