Ootb Studio Launches Groundbreaking R&D Variety Show 'Nation's Request'
Ootb Studio, led by CEO Lee Hyun-sook, is set to launch the world's first R&D variety show, tentatively titled 'Nation's Request'.

'Nation's Request' is a revolutionary concept where the public submits requests for the development of 'national items'. The show collaborates with companies to develop and launch new products based on these requests. Each episode features citizen interviews to gather product ideas, which are then passed on to companies. The companies select feasible candidates, and a final public vote determines the 'Nation's Request Product' to be launched. Given the time required for gathering public opinions and product development, the show is slated to premiere in January 2025.

Ootb Studio, known for its close engagement with viewers through subscription milestones of 500,000, 1 million, and 1.5 million, aims to showcase its exceptional communication skills once again with 'Nation's Request'. The show plans to actively incorporate ideas and opinions from citizens and viewers on various product categories, sparking interest in the upcoming new products.

The Ootb Studio YouTube channel community has already begun receiving subscriber ideas for products, with a flood of creative suggestions in the comments. The official program name, currently a working title, will also be decided based on viewer suggestions, adding to the anticipation for innovative program names.

The show's host will be Jang Woo-young, a member of the renowned K-pop group 2PM, known for his wit and charm. This marks Jang's first solo variety show since his debut in 2008. He expressed excitement and anticipation, noting his familiarity with Ootb Studio's diverse content, including 'The Ex-Convict: The Man Who Changes Every Day'. Upon hearing about the show's unique concept, Jang stated, "If we're going to do this, we need to properly incorporate the public's opinions," showing his commitment to the project.

On the 27th, Ootb Studio released a teaser video showcasing Jang Woo-young's first meeting with the production team and his spontaneous request to a company for product development. After understanding the show's concept, Jang declared, "I am the servant of the people," fully immersing himself in the 'Nation's Request' concept.

Jang, known for his discerning consumer habits, stated, "I am very particular about my purchases. It doesn't make sense to buy something just because it's expensive, but if it's too cheap, I get suspicious." This approach instills confidence that he will help develop innovative national items with great value and quality.

Ootb Studio has introduced various ideas, such as non-alcoholic soju, single-serving soju, and pizza with only toppings, based on subscriber suggestions. Jang Woo-young even called pizza and liquor company representatives on the spot to request product development. When one representative responded positively, Jang eagerly asked, "Would it be okay if we visit you directly?" showcasing his proactive approach.

A preview also showed Jang visiting a company to discuss product development, where he disarmed a hesitant company representative by suggesting, "What if your stock price increases tenfold?" This glimpse promises exciting future developments.

Producer Ko Dong-wan, known for creating collaborative variety shows like 'Workman' and 'Negotiation King', expressed his reasons for casting Jang Woo-young, saying, "I noticed his exceptional variety show skills in other programs." He added, "By reflecting the ultimate 'consumer needs', we hope to create truly innovative products that don't exist in the world, which is why we planned 'Nation's Request'."

'Nation's Request' will begin its first public request vote for desired products on the Ootb Studio YouTube channel community on the 29th (Friday). The full show, detailing the request and development process of various national items, is set to premiere in January 2025.
