Actor Bae Hyun-sung Opens Up About His Relationship with His Younger Sister

Bae Hyun-sung, who debuted in 2018 and was born in 1999, recently shared insights about his relationship with his real-life younger sister.

On the 26th, Bae Hyun-sung met with us at a cafe in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to discuss his role in the JTBC drama 'Assembled Family.' The drama tells the story of three young adults who reunite after spending ten years as a family and ten years apart. In the series, Bae Hyun-sung plays Kang Hae-jun, a bright and sunny member of the basketball team.

Bae Hyun-sung, who has a sister two years younger than him, described their relationship as "neither extremely close nor distant, just somewhere in the middle." He added with a laugh, "Of course, my sister might have a different perspective." He explained, "We've always gotten along well without major conflicts. When I call my family, we all chat together. I think we're a harmonious family."

Comparing his on-screen character's sibling relationship to his real-life one, Bae Hyun-sung noted, "The concern I have for my sister is similar. Whenever she does something, I keep thinking about it."

He shared, "We attended the same school in Jeonju. My sister's close friends from that time know I'm an actor, but I don't think she tells friends she's made since then." Bae Hyun-sung added with a smile, "I'm introverted, but my sister is even more shy. Even if I tell her to mention my career, she probably wouldn't."

Bae Hyun-sung revealed, "My sister is graduating soon. I'm considering surprising her by attending the ceremony, but she might not like it," he joked.
