Mukbang YouTuber Hibab Reveals YouTube Earnings
Hibab, a popular mukbang YouTuber with 1.65 million subscribers, has openly shared her YouTube earnings.
On October 16th, at 5 PM, the YouTube channel 'E밥세끼' aired an episode of 'Saturday is Bap's Treat' (hereafter referred to as 'Bap Treat'), where Hibab set out to find a dining companion by offering a meal pledge.
Before embarking on her quest for a dining companion, Hibab sat down with PD Lee Young-sik to reveal her meal pledge for the week. Hibab boldly stated, "This week's meal pledge is to disclose my YouTube earnings from last month (September) and during my peak period," setting a daring condition. In the bustling food alley of Buldang-dong, Cheonan, Hibab ventured out to find a dining companion. However, since the meal to be treated was beef, it wasn't easy to find someone willing. On her third and final attempt, Hibab managed to secure a dining companion and enjoyed a lively meal with her high-energy friends.
Hibab, dining with colleagues from the MZ company, felt at ease and enjoyed the meal as if she were part of the same company. Listening to the stories of young men and women at the company, Hibab naturally asked about office romances and, when asked about her most recent breakup, she candidly confessed, "I was ghosted."
As the meal, reminiscent of a company dinner, progressed, one of the dining companions asked Hibab about her YouTube views. Hibab responded, "I planned to reveal my YouTube ad revenue as part of today's meal pledge," and openly disclosed her earnings.
Hibab stated, "I want to compare my earnings from September and my peak period. September was exceptionally low, around 26.76 million KRW (based on the exchange rate at the time of filming). My peak was in May 2021, when I recorded approximately 102.9 million KRW."
Running her own company, Hibab admitted, "It seems like a lot of revenue, but after running the company, not much actually comes to me." Her dining companions acknowledged, "We've heard that the welfare at Hibab's company is really good," and added, "It seems like you put a lot of effort into employee welfare," expressing their agreement.
