Kim Jong-min Opens Up About Marriage Aspirations
Kim Jong-min has revealed his sincere thoughts on marriage.
On the 139th episode of Channel A's 'Men's Life These Days - Groom Class' aired on the 13th, 'newcomer' Kim Jong-min was seen receiving psychological counseling as his first step towards becoming a good husband and father. Meanwhile, the couple Lee Da-hae and Se7en were invited to the Macau International Film Festival, showcasing a sweet trip reminiscent of a honeymoon, which warmed the hearts of viewers. According to Nielsen Korea, the episode recorded a viewership rating of 2.2% nationwide among paid households. Joining as a new student in the '4th grade, 5th class', Kim Jong-min surprised everyone by revealing his 'bucket list' of things he wants to achieve before marriage. He stated, "I actually have a bucket list of things I want to learn before getting married." He added, "If I learn them one by one like a checklist, wouldn't I be prepared as a good husband and father?" His notebook included items like "how to be a son-in-law loved by in-laws" and "how to invest in real estate for home ownership."
Kim Jong-min then visited comedian Kim Dae-hee, a 19-year marriage veteran and father of three, with a large fruit basket to seek advice on marriage before filming a YouTube video together. When Kim Jong-min asked, "What's the secret to a good relationship with your spouse?" Kim Dae-hee replied, "I tend to be considerate. Outside, you might have a style, but at home, none of that matters. You should take care of basic household chores like laundry, food waste, and dishes." Kim Jong-min nodded in agreement to the practical advice. After filming Kim Dae-hee's YouTube content 'Kkondaehee' with Baekga, Kim Jong-min headed somewhere else.
He visited a psychological counseling center, explaining, "I have difficulties in human relationships and communication with my girlfriend. I thought it would be good to learn more about myself to build a happy family, so I decided to get psychological counseling." During the session, he was asked to draw his girlfriend's face, and the counselor analyzed, "She seems intellectual and has leadership qualities." The counselor further diagnosed, "The most important value for Kim Jong-min seems to be 'safety'. He also has a high dependency on others and a tendency to avoid risks." This means he tends to be considerate of others and is not good at expressing his own emotions and experiences.
Kim Jong-min agreed, saying, "That's accurate," and asked, "I thought following what the other person wants was good, but could this trait negatively affect raising children?" The counselor advised, "Children model after their parents. Therefore, if you develop the ability to recognize and express your emotions more delicately, it will also help in raising children." Kim Jong-min proudly mentioned, "My girlfriend is good at expressing herself," and felt relieved, saying, "I think I've improved a bit after this counseling."
