Family Drama Unfolds as Shin Hyun-jun and Kim Kyung-mi Debate 'Separate Sleeping' for Their Kids
On the 25th episode of Channel A's 'Dad is a Flower Middle-aged Man', airing tonight, viewers will witness the ongoing 'lotto chemistry' between the 57-year-old Shin Hyun-jun and his 12-years-younger wife, Kim Kyung-mi, as they tackle the issue of 'separate sleeping' for their children, which has been a point of contention since the last episode.
Shin Hyun-jun enjoys sleeping with his three children over the weekend, while Kim Kyung-mi, exhausted from taking care of the kids alone during the weekdays, wakes up after practicing 'solo separate sleeping' in their second child Ye-jun's room. Despite her continuous appeals to sleep separately from the children, Shin Hyun-jun insists, "I'm not ready to sleep apart from the kids yet," prompting Kim Kyung-mi to take action.
During breakfast, she brings up the 'separate sleeping' issue, lamenting, "Kids, it's time to sleep in your own rooms. Mom is too tired." However, Shin Hyun-jun counters, "Your opinions on wanting to sleep with dad are important too." Their eldest son, Min-jun, suggests a vote to resolve the issue.
Agreeing to their son's suggestion, the couple decides to hold a 'secret vote' that evening. Meanwhile, Shin Hyun-jun takes on the challenge of looking after the three kids alone as his wife heads to work at her agency office. However, chaos ensues as Min-jun and Ye-jun bicker on the way to the hospital for a health check, and the youngest, Min-seo, bursts into tears during her appointment, leaving Shin Hyun-jun overwhelmed.
The chaos continues at the supermarket, where the kids cause a series of mishaps, leading to an 'extreme solo parenting' experience. In a desperate move, Shin Hyun-jun attempts to sway the vote by promising toys if the kids vote to sleep with him, sparking controversy over his 'illegal election campaign'.
Meanwhile, Kim Kyung-mi is taken aback when the kids return home with a pile of toys. Sensing something amiss, she seizes the moment to appeal to the kids, "If you sleep together, you'll keep kicking each other, and you'll be so tired in the morning."
As the tension builds, the 'together sleeping party' led by Shin Hyun-jun and the 'separate sleeping party' led by Kim Kyung-mi face off in the 'secret vote'. With the children's loyalties swaying throughout the day, the question remains: will they side with their father's promise of toys or their mother's plea for practicality?
