Lee Joo-seok and Kim Hee-ryeong Enjoy Rural Life on 2,500-Pyeong Land
On the 18th, TV Chosun's 'Perfect Life' featured the couple, who have been married for 20 years.
Panelist Lee Seong-mi, upon seeing a photo of the couple holding hands, asked, "Do you usually hold hands with your wife like that?" Lee Joo-seok responded, "I like physical affection. Today, because we're on a show, I can hold her hand freely, but usually, she doesn't let me." MC Hyun Young remarked, "I thought you would be a bad guy at home because of your 'Love and War' cheating husband image, but you're actually sweet and kind." Lee Joo-seok clarified, "Some people see me as a bad guy, but acting is just acting. It's separate from who I am."
Despite their slender frames, both had belly fat. Lee Joo-seok was diagnosed with hyperlipidemia and diabetes last year. Kim Hee-ryeong said, "I didn't know about skinny obesity until recently. My husband was diagnosed with hyperlipidemia and diabetes last year. Since then, we've managed our diet and exercise, and he recovered quickly. But once we felt relieved, we started snacking and stopped exercising, and the belly fat came back."
Lee Joo-seok shared, "Kim Hee-ryeong had a hysterectomy in her early 50s. Since then, her health has declined, and she's developed diabetes and allergies. She looks thin but is considered obese. What exactly is skinny obesity?" A specialist explained, "Skinny obesity is when the limbs are thin but abdominal fat is prominent, like in your case. Your bellies might be full of inflammation."
The couple has been living in rural Hwacheon, Gangwon Province, for five years. MC Hyun Young admired their clean and bright interior, saying, "Your house looks like a café." The property was also spacious. Lee Joo-seok went out to pick vegetables for breakfast, saying, "We have so many types of fruits and vegetables, about 25 kinds each." When asked about the land size, he replied, "It's about 2,500 pyeong." Hyun Young was surprised, calling them "landowners in Hwacheon."
While his wife was still asleep, Lee Joo-seok prepared a healthy breakfast after working in the field. He said, "I love cooking, but I love my wife even more," showing his affection.
