Lim Chae-moo Reveals Past Crush on Kim Young-ran
On the 100th episode of tvN STORY's 'Chairman's People,' airing at 8:20 PM on the 9th, Kim Young-ran and Lim Chae-moo, who played the second daughter and her husband in 'Country Diary,' visit Yangchon-ri.
As the Chairman's family prepares for Chuseok by making traditional sweets, an unexpected call comes in for Kim Yong-gun from a mysterious woman who affectionately calls him "oppa." Shortly after, a 1980s taxi arrives in Yangchon-ri, and out step Kim Young-ran and Lim Chae-moo, the family members from 'Country Diary.' The reunion is brief as Kim Young-ran boldly declares, "I'm here to be treated well today," causing tension among the family members. Particularly, the on-screen sister-in-law Jo Hana, known for her strict demeanor, doesn't back down and engages in a cute, bickering chemistry with Kim Young-ran.
The family and guests gather for a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Kim Young-ran reveals that she was cast in 'Country Diary' after losing her plane ticket during a trip to Hawaii, which led to her being stranded with director Lee Yeon-heon. She also shares a captivating swimsuit calendar photo from her prime in her 20s.
Lim Chae-moo updates everyone on his recent life, expressing deep affection for his remarried wife. He recounts their first date and proposal over a single kimbap roll and shares the hardships they faced, including living in a military bed in the amusement park restroom he managed due to overwhelming debt. Despite the challenges, Lim Chae-moo reveals that their love only grew stronger.
Reflecting on his career as a heartthrob in the 1980s, Lim Chae-moo confesses that he once had a crush on Kim Young-ran, his on-screen wife in 'Country Diary.' When asked how he feels about her now, he charmingly responds, "Even though she's aged, my love hasn't faded," adding a sweet touch to the conversation. He also candidly discusses his most memorable kiss scene with Kim Soo-mi in the film 'Unstoppable Marriage.'
