Jannabi's Choi Jung-hoon revealed that he is currently writing love songs
Jannabi's Choi Jung-hoon revealed that he is currently writing love songs.
On the 25th, Choi Jung-hoon appeared on JTBC's Newsroom.
Celebrating their 10th anniversary, Jannabi has faced numerous battles over the years. Choi Jung-hoon explained, "Since I was young, I've lived with a martial arts-like worldview. Every time I go on stage, I feel like an athlete or a soldier going to war. I think that's why I've always approached performances with a sense of solemnity, and I believe that's why we've managed to achieve small victories each time."
After performances, he often feels regret. Choi Jung-hoon admitted, "There are many times when I lose myself on stage. Looking back, it's embarrassing to think about the things I've done in front of so many people. But I also think it's mutual. Our fans also let loose and have fun to the point where I wonder if it's okay for them to act like that."
Jannabi draws a lot of inspiration from books and movies. When asked about a recent work that left an impression on him, Choi Jung-hoon mentioned, "Recently, I watched 'Mad Max,' a somewhat gruesome and ruthless film, while writing a love song. I watched it through the lens of a melodramatic romance, and it was interesting." When asked if the song was finished, he replied, "I'm still writing the lyrics."
Choi Jung-hoon also performed 'Hot Summer Night is Gone and All That Remains is Unremarkable.' He expressed his affection for the song, saying, "It's the title track of our first album. I was struggling with what kind of music I really liked and wanted to make. Writing this song made me think that maybe this is the answer."
He also shared that creating 'For Hesitant Lovers' was a challenging experience. "We spent two years making our second album. Just as we were about to release it, our first album started gaining attention. We felt it was the right time to make our breakthrough. But after releasing it, I was disappointed in myself for focusing so much on self-expression and making the title track so important," he confessed.
Choi Jung-hoon hopes that Jannabi's music can be described as childlike. "I often tell people that our music is about innocence. I want it to have the impression of a clumsy child waving a stick and seriously saying, 'This is a battlefield.'" When asked what he wants to maintain in his music career, he replied, "A simple heart. I believe Jannabi's music gains life from the applause of our fans. To achieve that, I need to be more dedicated to maintaining a simple heart. I hope our music can reach people of all ages. That's my one and only dream."
Choi Jung-hoon and Han Ji-min are publicly dating. The two became a couple through KBS 2TV's 'The Seasons - Choi Jung-hoon's Night Park.' Han Ji-min was born in 1982, and Choi Jung-hoon in 1992, making them ten years apart.
