Jang Shin-young Chooses Forgiveness Over Divorce for Her Children Amidst Public Debate

On the 19th, Jang Shin-young uploaded a post on her social media for the first time in 35 weeks. Along with a photo of a clear blue sky, she apologized, saying, "I am sorry for disappointing everyone who has cherished and loved our family." She continued, "I spent days in a dark tunnel, not knowing how time was passing."
Jang Shin-young shared, "One day, I closed my eyes and found peace and quiet after a long time. I wished time would stop forever." She added, "But then my child called out 'Mom,' and I snapped back to reality. I realized I couldn't give up. I have to protect my children and my precious life. The ones who suffered the most were probably the children. As a parent, I am endlessly sorry for causing them pain and making them experience things they shouldn't have."

On the 24th of last month, Kang Kyung-joon issued a lengthy statement, saying, "I apologize for causing concern with an unfortunate incident earlier this year. I feel heavy-hearted for disappointing those who have supported me and my family." This statement was seen as an acknowledgment of the affair.
Following the statement, the public expressed their sympathy for Jang Shin-young and her children, with messages like "Divorce and start anew," "Stay strong," and "We wish happiness for Jang Shin-young and her children." However, Jang Shin-young chose forgiveness over divorce after much deliberation. Some criticized her decision, expecting her to leave Kang Kyung-joon and start a new life.
However, such public criticism can be seen as excessive interference. No one has suffered or deliberated more than the person involved. Respecting and supporting Jang Shin-young's decision is the best course of action.
