In the tvN X TVING original drama 'I Hate Losing Money' scheduled to premiere on the 26th, Kim Young-dae plays 'Kim Ji-wook', a convenience store night shift worker who 'serves up conveniences'. Ji-wook is a citizen police officer and a neighborhood righteous man who cannot turn away from those in need. He faces a new situation when he accepts the offer of a part-time job as a groom from Hae-young, a customer with whom he has a hard time. 'I Hate Losing Money' is a zero-profit/loss romance between 'Son Hae-young (played by Shin Min-a)', a woman who got married because she didn't want to lose money, and 'Kim Ji-wook (played by Kim Young-dae)', a man who became a fake groom because he didn't want to be a victim.
Kim Young-dae said about the reason he chose this work, "I found the parts that colorfully expressed realistic scenes interesting and fun. I think the various episodes that unfold within the intertwining of each character are the great appeal of our drama."
He continued, expressing his affection for the character, saying, "Ji-wook has a personality that is rational but doesn't want to harm others. He is quick to calculate his own interests but doesn't want to harm others even if it means harming himself. I thought that was cool."
Kim Young-dae explained the part he focused on while acting the character, saying, "I wanted to emphasize the strong image of an upright young man." He said, "Ji-wook is a very cautious person, so he wants to be hidden rather than revealed wherever he is. I put a lot of effort into showing the process of Ji-wook's life changing after meeting Hae-young in the drama." This is why people are looking forward to the character's rich expression of both the inside and the outside thanks to his efforts.
Kim Young-dae, who chose 'hard work', 'sincerity', and 'loneliness' as keywords that best express the character, also mentioned the high synchronization rate, saying that Ji-wook's appearance of not wanting to hurt others is similar to reality. He also said, "Thanks to senior Min-ah's consideration throughout filming, I was able to focus on acting. I'm so grateful."
