Zico, love call to Lim Young-woong, “I want a collaboration”

Singer Zico mentioned the differences from other artists who hosted 'The Seasons'.

On the 23rd, the production presentation of KBS2's 'The Seasons - Zico's Artist' was held at the KBS new building public hall in Yeouido, Seoul, and Zico, Jeong Dong-hwan, PD Choi Seung-hee, and Kim Tae-jun attended.

'The Seasons' is the first KBS late-night music program to adopt a season system, starting with 'Jay Park's Drive' in February of last year, followed by 'Choi Jung-hoon's Park at Night', 'Akmu's One Day and Five Nights', and 'Lee Hyo-ri's Red Carpet'. A musician took on the role of MC and presented a story.

The fifth season's title, 'Artist', is the title song of Zico's second mini album released in 2017, and is a representative song that solidifies his position as a solo musician 'ZICO' by incorporating his own producing abilities. KBS said that like the lyrics "We are Artist," they are looking forward to a music party on Friday night where musicians, audiences, and viewers can all become 'artists' and enjoy it.

When asked if there was a difference from the artist's hosting in the previous four seasons, Zico said, "First of all, each MC's style is very different." “In the case of senior Jay Park, he had a strong sense of improvisation and naturalness, while Jeonghoon Choi was like a model student and seemed to have learned a lot about artists. I also have this naturalness and am able to use multiplayer skills in many ways to enable deep talks with artists. “I plan to research and try this method,” he said.

He continued, "I would like to play the role of pointing out points that would have been good if this artist had been highlighted. I think there are various ways to express them through talk. I want to become a host who researches through numerous methods." He said.

When asked if there was an artist he would like to collaborate with through the program, Zico said, "I want to collaborate with Lim Young-woong, which is different from the genres I have been working in. I think it will open the way for new reinterpretations of trot, dance, and hip-hop." said. He then jokingly said, "There is a group called Boy Next Door. I think it would be nice to perform on stage with those friends."

KBS2's 'The Seasons - Zico's Artist' will be aired for the first time on Friday, April 26th at 10 PM.
