Kim Yun-ji earned more than the singer's 8-year income by appearing in the first Hollywood movie.
Broadcaster Kang Joo-eun, former baseball player Yang Jun-hyuk, singer and actress Kim Yun-ji (NS Yoon-ji), and comedians Sang-jun Lee and Nam-yong Seo appeared on SBS' 'Strong Heart VS', which aired on the 5th.
Yunji Kim made her Hollywood debut with the Netflix movie 'Lift'. The work ranked first for three consecutive weeks.
Kim Yun-ji played the role of a key brain hacker in this movie. He explained, “The main characters are seven thieves, and I appear as one of them.” He also said, "I think everyone knew there would be a little bit. When they actually saw it, they said it had a lot of screen time. I'm grateful that they were happy about it as if it was their own work."
'Lift' is a work by director F. Gary Gray, who directed 'Men in Black: International' and 'Fast and Furious: The Extreme'. The performers include famous American comedian and actor Kevin Hart, Ursula Corbero, famous for her role as Tokyo in Spain's 'Paper House', Sam Worthington of 'Avatar', and Jean Reno of 'Leon'.
Kim Yoon-ji said, “It was an honor and a unique experience to film with actors I have seen since I was young.” He also said, “We filmed for about 4 months as if we were living in a camp together, so we stayed together in the hotel and on set, so we all became close and we are still in constant contact.” He also boasted of their close relationship, saying, “If it’s a birthday or something to celebrate, I contact you.”
Regarding her movie appearance fee, Kim Yun-ji surprised everyone by saying, "I can't tell you the details, but I received more money than I earned while working as a singer for 8 years." He then joked, “I received it in dollars, so it was a bit salty because of the exchange rate.”
When asked whether the audition competition must have been enormous, Kim Yun-ji said, "At first glance, I heard that almost all the actresses around me had auditioned. The role I played was a Korean named Mi-seon, and I heard that I was the last one to be cast."
Also, "I was offered an audition by an American agent, so I memorized the script in one day, filmed it for 6 hours, and submitted it to the audition. I also went on to dozens of auditions, and I didn't hear back so much that I forgot about it. One day, I got a call and got the final role. “They told me I was one of two people. They told me to pack my bags and clear my schedule, so I was shaking at home, but the next day I received a final notification of acceptance,” he recalled.
Kim Yun-ji said, "After I passed the final exam, I had my first video meeting with the director. The director asked me to ask questions, and I asked him the reason, 'Why did you choose me?' The director said, 'I watched the audition video well, but my friends who were singers are quick to absorb and have good sense. “They found out that I was good and flexible, so they said they chose me based on my background as a singer.” She said, "Actually, the name NS Yoon-ji never helped me when I was working as an actress in Korea. Rather, it felt like a label. The moment I heard that, my head started pounding and I felt like I was being rewarded for my efforts." .
Yunji Kim also introduced Hollywood’s filming system. Kim Yoon-ji, who received VVIP treatment, explained, "When filming in Korea, I usually wait in the car, but in Hollywood, you can sleep in a trailer. If you don't like the food on site, you can request it separately. Then it will be delivered to you in the trailer."
He continued, "When I go to get my hair and makeup done, they give me a full course, starting with a massage. After filming, we go home quickly. Other friends went later than me. They came with their hair and makeup removed. I asked, 'Is there something I don't know about?' "When I went to the hair and makeup trailer, they removed my makeup and even gave me a steam towel massage, but I was the only one who didn't know that. From then on, I worked hard to remove it. I said, 'If there's anything good like this, please let me know.'"
Kim Yoon-ji said, "The time may exceed, isn't it? If additional filming is necessary, we receive a consent form from each and every actor. If even one person does not give consent, we cannot film. We receive this from not only the actors but also the staff."
