Zico, reason for joining Hive… “Chairman Bang Si-hyuk suggests creating synergy”

Artist and producer ZICO boasted of being a representative all-rounder in the music industry.

Zico appeared on MBC's entertainment program 'Point of Omniscient Interfere', which aired on the 17th. The MCs brightly welcomed him, who appeared on an observational entertainment show after a long time, and said, “Zico started the dance challenge that singers do these days when they make a comeback. “It was Zico who even coined the term ‘killing part,’” he said.

On this day's broadcast, Zico's daily life, going back and forth between being an 'MZ producer' who takes great care of his juniors, and a 'top tier' artist, was highlighted. His 'good job' charm shined as he devoted himself to his main job as a singer and producer.

Zico headed to the Hive office building in Yongsan-gu, Seoul to go to work at KOZ Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as KOZ), which he founded. Zico said, “About two years after running KOZ, I was contacted by Chairman Bang Si-hyuk, and we met and explained what I wanted to do and the purpose of creating the company. (Chairman Bang, who heard the whole story) said, ‘He has sufficient qualifications as a creator. “Running a company is different, so let’s create synergy within the Hive system,” he said, recalling the past.

After arriving at the company building, Zico first participated in a meeting related to BOYNEXTDOOR, which is scheduled to make a comeback in April. He showed his fierce spirit as KOZ's representative producer by providing sharp feedback on the details of the content being prepared.

On the other hand, when I met and talked with BoyNextdoor members Myeong Jaehyun and Lee Han, he approached me as a friendly 'MZ producer', communicating comfortably based on his long experience as an idol. Boy Next Door is a boy group first introduced by KOZ last year, and boasts rapid growth, entering the US Billboard main album chart 'Billboard 200' just 112 days after its debut.

Afterwards, the daily life of 'top tier' artist Zico was depicted. At the meeting for singer Zico, there was talk about this year's music activities. Zico is preparing to release a single in the first half of the year and said, “My goal is to produce all the songs within February.” In addition, expectations were raised by predicting more active activities as a singer than last year. After completing all meetings, Zico headed to the concert hall and stood in front of the audience as a player. As expected of a 'hit singer', he showed off his presence as a 'performance craftsman' by getting the audience to sing along.
