Lee Ji-hye was shocked by the drug drink incident that occurred in the middle of downtown Seoul.

KBS2's 'Smoking Gun', which airs on the 7th, delves into the 2023 'Daechi-dong drug drink incident', which caused a great shock as drugs indiscriminately infiltrated even teenagers.

On April 3, 2023, a large amount of drug-laced drinks were distributed at a tasting event in the Daechi-dong academy district of Gangnam, Seoul, where schools are concentrated. A total of 10 students were tricked into drinking the drink by claiming it would help ‘improve memory and concentration.’ They all suffered serious side effects, including dizziness, stomachache, insomnia, and even hallucinations.

On this day's broadcast, the gang's bold tactics, from manufacturing and distributing drug drinks, are revealed. Among them, the main culprit, Mr. Gil, was found to have obtained 10 grams of Philopon using the so-called 'throwing method' and then personally manufactured 100 bottles of drug drinks at his residence in Wonju, Gangwon-do. He even demanded a large amount of money from the victims' parents, saying, "I will report to the police that my child has taken drugs."

Lee Ji-hye was angry, saying, “It is so shocking that the targets of the crime were children,” and “I am so angry that they approached with such determination.” Ahn Hyeon-mo could not keep his mouth shut, saying, “It is surprising that we have become a society where drugs are so easily accessible.”

In the studio, Choi Yun-seok (pseudonym), an actual drug addict, appeared and shared his experience. After accidentally encountering ecstasy, Mr. Choi became addicted to marijuana and other drugs and was separated from his four-year-old daughter for three years. He vividly testified to the damage caused by the difficulty in escaping the temptation of drugs, saying, “Not only are drugs easy to obtain, but many people come into contact with them without even knowing.”

Jihye Lee said, “I wonder how a world like this can exist,” and said, “When I think about how much my family must have suffered when my child’s father became a drug addict, I feel like my heart is breaking.”
