Kim Woo-seok “Expanding his acting spectrum”

Kim Wooseok deeply captured the changes and deep emotions of Kim Junhee, who stands at the center of the mafia game, and kept the audience on edge until the very end. He has shown stable acting in 'TWENTY - TWENTY', 'Bulgasal', and 'Finland Papa'. Through ‘It’s Night’, he once again proved his worth as an actor.Next is Kim Wooseok's Q&A at the end of 'It's Night'Q. How do you feel about finishing ‘It’s Night’ well?
A. I was happy to be able to show my acting side once again through ‘It’s Night’. It's sad to see that the work that was filmed this summer has already come to an end. We tried a lot of different things in ‘It’s Night’. Because it is a work of challenge and learning, I think I will be able to remember it for a long time. Thank you to everyone who watched.
Q. I’m curious how the chemistry was as there were many actors of the same age.
A. I was always cheerful and happy with my 2nd and 3rd grade friends. It really felt like my high school classmates came to hang out. In particular, it was a time where I learned a lot about acting. Throughout filming, all the actors comfortably shared their opinions about their acting. As we worked hard together, we worked well together and I think we were able to create good synergy.
Q. Is there a most memorable viewer reaction?
A. I think people really liked the chemistry between childhood friends Junhee and Yunseo. In addition to the mafia and the ending, I was surprised by the detailed reasoning about Jun-hee and Yoon-seo. I also talked a lot with actor Lee Jae-in to better express the relationship and emotions between childhood friends Jun-hee and Yoon-seo. We are proud that our efforts and passion have been conveyed well on screen.
Q. It seems like you showed a lot of different aspects from your previous acting. When you look at the finished work, do you think it was expressed well as expected?
A. I thought and thought about how to show the character Junhee in an attractive and three-dimensional way. It was fun to be able to show a side of me that was different from the acting I had shown before. However, since I am in a position to monitor my acting rather than appreciating it, I think I also feel a sense of regret. While looking at the completed work, I gave myself feedback, saying, ‘It would be better if this scene was expressed this way.’ I have no regrets because I put everything into it during filming.
Q. Is there anything you gained from the work?
A. I think I have achieved growth. ‘It’s Night’ is a precious work that made actor Kim Wooseok grow once again. During my acting career, I felt that actors need to be able to express themselves well. While making 'It's Night', I tried a lot of things I hadn't tried before. What I personally experienced and learned had a great influence on my acting. I think my acting spectrum has definitely expanded, allowing me to show more diverse sides.
Q. ‘It’s Night’ and a word to the fans who loved Junhee.
A. It ended with great support and love from viewers and fans. Thank you very much for watching ‘It’s Night’ and supporting Junhee. I will come back with good music and good works. I hope you end 2023 happily.
