Kim Hyun-joo retraces the steps of her dead son.
In the 12th episode of the SBS Monday-Tuesday drama 'Trolley', which aired on the 31st of last month, Kim Hye-joo (played by Kim Hyun-joo) and Nam Jung-do (played by Park Hee-soon) were engulfed in confusion and conflict after learning that their son Nam Ji-hoon (played by Jeong Taek-hyun) had sexually assaulted them during his lifetime.
On this day's broadcast, Kim Hye-joo received a call from Nam Jung-do and headed to the lawmaker's office. I couldn't believe the news of my dead son's sexual crime, where the same tragedy was repeated again, and that the victim was Kim Soo-bin (played by Jeong Soo-bin). Nam Jung-do held a press conference and quickly apologized, and brought Jo Gwi-soon (played by Won Mi-won) to the stage to announce the proposal for the Namgung Sol Act for victims of sexual crimes.
The rift in their family also affected their middle school daughter Nam Yoon-seo (played by Choi Myung-bin). Nam Yoon-seo, who was labeled as a family member of a sex offender, caused a conflict with his best friend Kwon Da-som (played by Kang Ji-woo), although he constantly faced the news of his father, a member of the National Assembly, and his older brother, a troublemaker. Because of this, Kim Hye-joo was called by the school, and on the way back with Kwon Da-som's mother, Hwang Ji-soo (played by Koo Si-yeon), she reunited with Kim Soo-bin in front of his hospital.
Kim Hye-joo caught Kim Soo-bin, who was running away, pretending not to notice, and asked, “Did Ji-hoon really do that?” However, Kim Soo-bin's answer when he returned was unexpected. She said that she was not sexually assaulted by Nam Ji-hoon and that she never threatened him.
Namjungdo’s argument was also consistent. When Kim Hye-joo met Kim Soo-bin and shared the stories she heard, she became angry, saying that not only did she have hospital consultation records to prove the truth, but that she would have manipulated her son into being the world's worst X just to change the law. And he expressed his bitter feelings, saying, “I have never doubted you… but you don’t trust me.”
After the storm passed, Kim Hye-joo apologized for doubting Nam Jung-do. The two people shed tears with complicated feelings. However, the truth hidden behind the tears gave me goosebumps. Kim Hye-joo heard the shocking story from Kim Soo-bin that the last person Nam Jung-hoon met on the night of his death was Nam Jung-do, and looked back on his actions that day.
Nam Jung-do and Jang Woo-jae (played by Kim Moo-yeol) were relieved that everything was going as planned. Nam Jung-do repeated, “I will feel guilty towards my wife and Ji-hoon until I die. But for the sake of the world and the sake of more people, I had no choice.”
Now Kim Hye-joo can no longer be trusted. This is because it has been confirmed that Nam Jung-do drew a big picture for political purposes and conspired beyond lies and secrets. Kim Hye-joo, who was forced to face the true face of the person she trusted and loved more than anyone else, as in the confession, "I feel so unfamiliar with you right now," fell into the arrogant delusion that "my wife never doubts me, never," and took the trauma of her wife and the dishonor of her son into her own hands. Namjungdo tried to turn this into an opportunity.
