Beomhak Lee hospitalized in mental hospital due to bipolar disorder

Beomhak Lee appeared as a guest on MBN's 'Scoop World', which aired on the 30th.
Beomhak Lee rose to stardom in the 1990s with the song ‘Farewell, Not Goodbye’. Beomhak Lee recalled his time at the time, saying, “A 1-ton truckload of fan letters came to the agency a week.”
However, Beomhak Lee revealed that he suffered from bipolar disorder during his prime. He confessed, "Life changed so drastically that I couldn't keep up with it. There was a time when I was forced to go to my schedule like a puppy. It was probably the brightest moment in my life, but it was so difficult."
The reason for stopping activities was due to contract issues with the agency. At the time, Beomhak Lee said, "I worked without a contract with my agency. Now that I think about it, it's a ridiculous story." It is said that only after winning first place for five weeks in a row did the agency buy a car. Beomhak Lee confessed, "That was it. I left the agency to try to succeed without it, but I didn't know it would take 20 years."
Beomhak Lee's older sisters also mentioned his past struggles with bipolar disorder. It is said that Beomhak Lee was hospitalized in a closed ward of a psychiatric hospital due to bipolar disorder. Lee Beom-hak's older sisters expressed their regret, saying, "Depression is very popular these days, but it wasn't like that back then. If something like that happened back then, they would just put him in a mental hospital."
Beomhak Lee experienced the pain of divorce once and is now remarried to a wife who is 13 years younger than him. Beomhak Lee recalled the time of the divorce, saying, "I broke up with my ex-wife when my child was in the 4th grade of elementary school. We were very close to each other. I drank alcohol all the time." Lee Beom-hak, who joined an agency, said, "I thought I could do more for my child if I worked hard, but I felt like I couldn't do anything. I went on stage wearing sparkly clothes for a few months and received a salary that wasn't even enough to pay child support," and also became a trot singer. He said he was active.
Beomhak Lee is said to have met his current wife while working alone. The couple currently runs a kalguksu restaurant. Beomhak Lee confessed, “I had nothing financially and did not meet the typical conditions (marriage) at all.” The wife expressed her affection for her husband, saying, "I liked him more. He was a cold-blooded man. At the time, my brother was alone and I loved that choice as well."
