Shim Hyung-tak reveals bride-to-be, “It was love at first sight”

Actor Shim Hyung-tak revealed for the first time his bride-to-be, a Japanese woman 18 years younger than him who recently announced her marriage.

In TV Chosun's 'Joseon's Lover' broadcast on the 10th, Shim Hyung-tak revealed his Japanese girlfriend, who is 18 years younger than him, with whom he announced his marriage.

On this day's broadcast, Shim Hyung-tak said, "I really showed courage. Of course, this is the first and last time that I look back at the first meeting and make such a decision." Shim Hyung-tak went to Japan to film an entertainment program in the past and met his bride-to-be. He confessed, “I kept contacting him (even after coming to Korea), but he didn’t reply.”

Shim Hyeong-tak said, "I kept in touch with you. I said I wanted to go to Japan to see you. I was going to Japan alone. I mustered up courage. I was waiting for you, and as I walked towards you, I started to shine. The first time we met, I thought I should marry that person." said. He added, "I made a promise to myself at that time. I told him to come to Korea. Actually, I had to wait for an answer, but I quit a really good company and came to Korea. Up until then, I couldn't speak Korean at all."

Shim Hyung-tak revealed his home. The entrance to his house was full of character dolls. Shim Hyeong-tak explained, “I collected them because it would be nice to always look at them when I come in and out.” Shim Hyung-tak first revealed his bride-to-be, Saya, who is 18 years younger than him. Shim Hyeong-tak said, “Conversation is a little difficult with other people. But I can communicate with everything through feeling.”

The production team of 'Joseon's Lover' looked at Shim Hyung-tak's bride-to-be and asked, "Did you broadcast an idol show in Japan?" Shim Hyung-tak said, "It was love at first sight. I was working and couldn't concentrate on filming. I fell in love at first sight." Saya laughed, saying, "They said I was a cool actor in Korea. It was so strange that I was scared. This was the first time I've seen someone say they were cool." Shim Hyung-tak also said, "I told him to call me oppa, but it was too awkward. So I told him to call me Mr. Shim. We have similar mental ages."

Shim Hyung-tak introduced the newlyweds’ home. Shim Hyung-tak said he proposed in advance with a photo. “I gave the ring to you on my knees,” he said. Saya said that she accepted the proposal right away and said, “It was sparkling,” which made everyone laugh. Shim Hyung-tak said, “I can’t wear a ring because I’m scared.” Saya brought the ring and gave it to Shim Hyung-tak, reenacting the proposal.
