Ryu Soo-young revealed the reason for appearing on Netflix's 'Queen Maker'.

On the 11th, a production presentation for the Netflix series 'Queen Maker' was held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall on Hangang-daero, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Director Oh Jin-seok and actors Kim Hee-ae, Moon So-ri, Ryu Soo-young, and Seo Yi-sook attended.

Kim Hee-ae played the role of Hwang Do-hee, former head of Eunsung Group's future strategic planning office and current head of Seoul mayoral candidate Oh Kyung-sook's camp. Moon So-ri played the role of Oh Kyeong-sook, the 18th Seoul city council member and labor and human rights lawyer who is now an independent Seoul mayoral candidate. Ryu Soo-young played Baek Jae-min, a national announcer, former chairman of the Green People Foundation, and Seoul mayoral candidate of the Republican Party of Korea. Seo Yi-sook appears as Son Young-sim, the chairman of Eunsung Group.

Ryu Soo-young revealed the reason for appearing, saying, "The story was interesting. It was the most important part. And I saw a different side from the role I played." He continued, "When I received this script, I looked at it with gender removed. When you watch it, don't think of it as 'male politician' or 'female politician', but think of them all as politicians and it will. Although I am a member of the Blue and White, I acted thinking that we were fighting together regardless of gender. “It's 2023, but isn't it a bit old-fashioned to distinguish between men and women?” he said, causing laughter.

The actors did not spare praise for Ryu Soo-young. Kim Hee-ae said, “He is a very villainous character in the play, but doesn't he have a good image? I cook all the time. What kind of luck is Park Ha-sun? It's actually delicate. If filming is delayed, it may be easier to be out, but I feel sad when I think of my child at home. Did Moon So-ri even think, 'Should I slap you on the back?' He is a delicate person. He is the hottest actor in my heart. “It is the rediscovery of Ryu Soo-young,” he said. Moon So-ri said, “There are a lot of women, but men don't say it's difficult to be alone. Rather, there were many scenes that dominated the atmosphere and featured various people. There were many supporting appearances and minor roles. “There were many scenes with about 100 people each, and there was leadership who created a friendly atmosphere,” he said.

Ryu Soo-young said, “While filming a project, I often think about whether this person has changed or is returning to his original self. I think it would be good to watch Baek Jaemin and think about whether he was originally that kind of person or whether he is changing. “He is a person who makes you reflect on your immoral side,” he explained.

Ryu Soo-young, who had many scenes where she had to give a speech in front of large crowds, said, “I wasn't able to perform on stage much while working on a drama, so I had few opportunities to stand in front. of many people. Among the voters at the site were aspiring actors, so there were many people who supported me. We prepared it so that they too would have a 'taste of listening'. It didn't make me feel like I was working. You must have a 'taste for work'. Thanks to the great response, I was able to move up the ranks. “It was better to act when there were a lot of people rather than when there was no one,” he said.

When asked to recommend food for the candidates to eat, Ryu Soo-young said, “For male candidates, stir-fried pork cutlet. “Female candidates would like food that is delicious but doesn't make you gain weight even if you eat a lot of it,” she joked, adding, “If I develop that, I won't get elected.”

'Queen Maker' is a Netflix series that depicts the story of Hwang Do-hee, a genius in image making and who controlled the strategic planning office of a large corporation, as she jumps into the election campaign to make Oh Kyung-sook, a human rights lawyer who has been called the rhino of justice and lived like a weed, the mayor of Seoul. It will be released on the 14th.
