Lee Dong-wook returns to the past, and his relationship with Kim Beom deteriorates again.
On the 12th, tvN's new Saturday-Sunday drama 'Tale of the Nine-Tailed Fox 1938', which will be aired for the first time on May 6, released the third teaser video showing the activities of Lee Yeon (Lee Dong-wook) , who turned the chaotic year of 1938 upside down. The dizzying reunion of people who should never meet, from the reunited brother Lee Rang (played by Kim Beom) to the never-ending evil relationship between Ryu Hong-ju (played by Kim So-yeon) and Cheon Moo-young (played by Ryu Kyung-soo), stimulates curiosity about what kind of spectacular story will unfold.
'Tale of the Nine-Tailed Fox 1938' is a K-fantasy action drama in which Lee Yeon, a nine-tailed fox who crash-landed in the era of chaos in 1938, tries to return to modern times. It returns after three years with dynamic action, scale, and more diverse folktale characters in an original worldview that exquisitely combines indigenous gods and native monsters. The reunion of director Kang Shin-hyo and writer Han Woori, who opened a new world of K-fantasy, is a point that excites drama fans. The meeting of actors Lee Dong-wook, Kim So-yeon, Kim Beom, and Ryu Kyung-soo also adds to expectations.
The teaser video and poster released earlier showed Lee Yeon, who was trapped in 1938, and Ryu Hong-joo, Lee Rang, and Cheon Mu-young greeting him at the time of the hunt. The third teaser video heightens tension with the unusual reunion of the 'Yeonrang' brothers. Lee Rang from 1938, with messy long hair and rebelious eyes. What soon pours down on him is Lee Yeon's harsh nagging, “Stop smoking, you little bastard.” The brothers, who meet again, do not hesitate to engage in gunfights. However, Lee Yeon’s question, “If the past changes, will the future change?” adds sadness to the hidden story of the two brothers. This is because he knows the 'past future' of Lee Rang, who sacrificed his life to protect his brother.
The more Lee Yeon cherishes her younger brother, the more dangerous Lee Rang becomes. Following former western mountain god Ryu Hong-ju and former northern mountain god Cheon Mu-yeong, two people with as much power as Lee Yeon begin to strangle the brothers. What kind of counterattack will Lee Yeon show in a fierce fight filled with provocations such as “Save her if you can” and warnings such as “You will see everything you care about die?” Attention is focused on his hunt to protect everyone, whether he can keep his principle of “A fox returns favors and avenges vengeance” again.
'Tale of the Nine-Tailed Fox 1938' will premiere at 9:20 pm on May 6th, following 'Pandora: A Fabricated Paradise'.
