Actor Kim Nam-gil compared his appearance in the Netflix series 'The Thief: The Sound of the Knife' with Jung Woo-sung's appearance in the movie 'The Good, the Bad, and the Weird'.

On the morning of the 19th, a production presentation for the Netflix series 'Thief: The Sound of the Sword' was held at the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel located in Jung-gu, Seoul. Actors Kim Nam-gil, Seohyun, Yoo Jae-myeong, Lee Hyun-wook, Lee Ho-jeong, Kim Do-yoon, Lee Jae-gyun, Cha Yeop, Cha Cheong-hwa, and director Hwang Jun-hyuk attended the event.

'Thieves: The Sound of the Sword' is an action drama about people who come together to protect their precious people and their home in Gando, a lawless land where China, Japan, and people gathered in 1920. It contains the story of thieves, not thieves who rob others, but the 'sound of the sword'.

Director Hwang Jun-hyuk, who directed the dramas 'Black Dog', 'Bad Guys: City of Evil', '38 Squadron', and 'Twenty Years Old', presents the story of a group of thieves who gathered together under the name of family in a rough era. In the play, Kim Nam-gil plays the role of Lee Yoon. Lee Yoon went from being a slave to a Japanese soldier to a thief.

On this day, Kim Nam-gil said, "If you can see a little bit of (Jung) Woo-sung's appearance in the movie 'The Good, the Bad, and the Weird,' does he look like that on the outside? The director showed me a lot of western movies, and I looked into them a lot. “I think it’s something you can’t avoid in Korea even if you try to avoid it. Even though it was a work and genre that came out before, it was great,” he said.

He continued, "I personally would be lying if I said I didn't look at the reference. I saw it a lot too. I even asked Woosung hyung, 'How did you do it?' When I asked him, 'It wasn't easy, it was difficult,' he said, 'Only practice will help you survive.' . I think the difference between 'Rogue: The Sound of the Knife' and 'The Good, the Bad, the Weird' is that there is a difference between a western and a drama. It's a story about people protecting their loved ones. They focused on that. They said it was something to see. “The difference is that it is incorporated because it is an essential part of the story,” he added.

Director Hwang Joon-hyuk said, "I think actor Kim Nam-gil said it well. When we talk about Western dramas, there are basically things that viewers want to see. It satisfies that point well. As you will know when it is released, the mix and match of the oriental yet western thief is unique. “You can see the action taken,” he said.

‘The Thief: The Sound of the Sword’ will be released in over 190 countries around the world through Netflix on the 22nd.
