Kim Dong-wook and Jin Ki-joo, time travel companions, highest 6.2%

According to Nielsen Korea, a viewership rating research company, on the 3rd, the second episode of KBS2's Monday-Tuesday drama 'You, the One I Met by Chance', which aired on the 2nd the previous day, recorded a viewership rating of 4.2% (nationwide), ranking first in its time slot. The highest viewer rating per minute rose to 6.2% (based on households in the metropolitan area).
On this day's broadcast, the story of Yoon Hae-joon (played by Kim Dong-wook) and Baek Yun-young (played by Jin Ki-ju), who began time travel and began to change their fate in earnest, was depicted. Yoon-young, who had previously crashed into Hae-joon's car and lost consciousness, returned to 1987 and was happy at the thought that she could change the fate of her mother, Lee Soon-ae (played by Seo Ji-hye). Hae-joon wanted to activate the time machine and send Yun-young back as soon as possible, so he made her stay at his house until the car repairs were completed. This began a strange relationship between those who had to return to the present and those who wanted to stay in the past.
Yun-young, who went back in time and met her 19-year-old mother, Sun-ae, followed her around in amazement and happiness. By chance, Yoon-young witnessed the first meeting between her father, Baek Hee-seop (played by Lee Won-jeong), and Soon-ae, and Yun-young, who believed that all of her current unhappiness stemmed from her family, desperately opposed their meeting. Hae-joon helped Yoon-young, who was drifting through the 1980s with an unclear identity, whenever she was in crisis, implying that the two people who unexpectedly traveled through time together would become each other's helpers.
Hae-joon struggled to prevent the tragic future he saw through the time machine. After finding out that the real culprit of the Ujeong-ri murder case and the culprit who murdered him were the same person, he tried to find clues in the only evidence, an old matchbox. At this time, Hae-joon happened to see the evidence that Yoon-young had picked up from the scene of his mother's death accident in 2021, and was shocked to learn that it was the same item as the matchbox in question. It stimulated curiosity about how the events that occurred 34 years apart were connected.
Yunyoung was heartbroken to learn that her mother, whom she constantly scolded and ignored, had previously been a person with rich emotions and was an avid reader. The sight of Yoon-young falling into regret after encountering her mother's youth, full of dreams and not much different from her own, brought tears to the eyes of viewers.
A shocking twist was also revealed. Yoon Young's employer, writer Go Mi-sook (played by Kim Hye-eun), showed an extremely sensitive attitude whenever her early work, Small Door, was mentioned. This action became a decisive foreshadowing. Yoon-yeong, who stole and read the diary written by 19-year-old Soon-ae, realized that 'Little Gate' was his mother's work, and the suspicion that his mother may not have committed suicide rose, heightening tension.
At the end of the broadcast, there was a scene where Yunyoung, who had a clear goal, declared that she would not return to the present. When Soon-ae, who was always being bullied by her friends, fell into the river and was in danger, Yoon-yeong ran to save her mother, where he met Go Mi-sook (played by Ji Hye-won) in her younger days. Yunyoung, who was convinced that her trip to the past was not a coincidence but a matter of necessity, was determined to reveal the truth. Yunyoung looked straight at Haejun and said, “I don’t think I can go back now. I have work to do, so here.”
