Shin Jeong-hwan appeals, “I want to go back to the way I was before gambling.”

Recently, on the YouTube channel ‘Grasshopper Entertainment’, ‘Taiwanese Gods of the Times’ featured ‘Shin Jeong-hwan vs. the Manshins!’ A video was uploaded with the title, ‘I shed light on everything from dengue fever to gambling.’
In the released video, Shin Jung-hwan recalled the time in 2010 when he was detained in the Philippines for gambling debts. Due to this controversy, Shin Jung-hwan canceled all broadcast recordings.
He explained, "I only came to the Philippines for tourism purposes, I did not gamble, and I am unable to return home due to dengue fever," sparking a 'controversy over lies.'
Shin Jeong-hwan said, "At that time, there was an accident and it was all over the Korean news. A close brother in the Philippines said, 'Hey, dengue fever is trending right now. Just call it dengue fever for now.'"
He continued, "I spoke with the older brother on the phone a while ago, and he said, 'I didn't know the situation would get this big. I said I would help my younger brother, but I'm really sorry.'"
Shin Jung-hwan confessed, “I stayed at the casino for three days without sleeping.” There was also a question about the winning rate of casino games. In response, he said, "The odds of winning in gambling are low. I didn't calculate it accurately, but I didn't have any money when I went to the gambling house. I quit smoking and gambling, which I found difficult. It's been 12 years since I quit smoking."
When asked, “If you could go back in time, is there a time you would like to go to?”, he said, “I would like to go back 15 to 16 years ago, before I started gambling.”
Shin Jeong-hwan was arrested and indicted in 2010 on charges of overseas gambling and sentenced to eight months in prison. He was virtually kicked out of the broadcasting industry after the away gambling controversy, and has been updating his current status through online content such as YouTube.
