Friendly Lee Dong-wook, resourcefulness that shines even more in times of crisis
'Gumi Island 1938' Lee Dong-wook escaped the crisis with resourcefulness.

Lee Dong-wook appeared as Gumiho Lee Yeon in episode 3 of tvN's Saturday-Sunday drama 'Tale of the Nine-Tailed Fox 1938', which aired on the 13th. Lee Yeon was faced with another crisis by the red and white mask that imprisoned her in 1938, creating a thrilling tension.

Lee Yeon, who was blinded by the broadcast that day, walked around the yard of Myoyeon-gak, thinking that the red and white mask would not miss the opportunity and come visit her. This shines when he is left alone. Many monsters who had a grudge against Lee Yeon came to visit. He said, “Did you know that foxes only hunt with their eyes?” and began to detect and defeat enemies with sound. Lee Yeon was embarrassed when the music became louder due to Ryu Hong-joo's (played by Kim So-yeon) interruption, but she soon figured out the location of the yard and was able to turn off the electricity and regain her victory in fair darkness.

But a bigger crisis arose. Through a kid she met by chance, Lee Yeon found out that Lee Rang (played by Beom Kim) and Shin Joo Koo (played by Hwang Hee) were dying. He was guided and went to rescue Lee Rang and Shin Ju, not knowing that the kid was Saetani who had blinded him. When Lee Yeon was put on the defensive by an attack by Hongbaek Mask and Cheon Mu-yeong (played by Ryu Kyung-soo) who were waiting for her in the forest, she handed over her sword and pleaded that she had made a mistake. At the time when Mu-yeong raised the sword, he said with a smile, "It's a lightning rod," and showed his wit by striking Mu-yeong with lightning.

Lee Yeon heard the sound of Saetani's bell and recalled a memory from the past. Although he was the child to whom he had given bells as a reward, he was unable to grant the dying child's wish. Because he abandoned the mountain spirit to save the woman he loved. Lee Yeon expressed her sincere apologies to Saetani and patted her, then remembered the name Azalea. As he opened his eyes, he was able to save Lee Rang and Shinju, and at least in the era in which they will live, he pledged that he would never leave the Red and White Mask alive, and decorated the ending with his brightly shining eyes.

Lee Dong-wook is leading ‘Tale of the Nine-Tailed Fox 1938’ and making the story more exciting. The action taking place while covering one's eyes with an eyepatch added to the pleasure of watching, and the confident expression that was shown momentarily when using a strategy was also thrilling. Meanwhile, the sweet voice caressing the child made viewers focus on the story and even moved them. Expectations are high to see what kind of story Lee Dong-wook will tell in the future, as he continues to increase immersion in each episode.
