Why directors Woo Do-hwan and Kim Joo-hwan of 'Hounds' couldn't erase Kim Sae-ron's traces of 'Drunk Driving'

'Hounds' is a story about two young men caught up in the world of loan sharks, where money comes before people's lives, risking their lives against a huge evil force. It is based on the Naver webtoon of the same name.
Director Kim Joo-hwan described Woo Do-hwan as 'perfect'. Woo Do-hwan said, "I like, respect, and am a close brother. He seems to have trusted me and entrusted me to me because he knows me better than anyone else. Actually, I was dreaming of romance while serving in the military, but I never thought that an action proposal would come."

In May of last year, while filming 'Hounds', Kim Sae-ron was driving drunk at Hak-dong Intersection in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and crashed several times into roadside trees and transformers. The court sentenced Kim Sae-ron to a fine of 20 million won. According to Netflix, Kim Sae-ron's length is not edited.
It would not have been easy to erase all the traces of Kim Sae-ron according to the flow of the eight-episode 'Hounds' storyline. We were able to confirm Kim Sae-ron's appearance in 'Hounds', which was previously released through an online preview. In the play, Kim Sae-ron was divided into Hyun-joo. Hyun-joo is like a family member to President Choi (played by Heo Jun-ho), who is called the legend of the private loan board, and a person who will succeed him.

Director Kim Joo-hwan said, "In order not to do that, the story had to be intact. So I did my best to improve the quality while minimizing (actor Kim Sae-ron's amount)." Woo Do-hwan also said, "I put a lot of effort into protecting this series. There were actions and various reasons. I am grateful that I was able to protect and show (the work)."
Director Kim Joo-hwan prioritized protecting the work. Because it was a work that was completed through the efforts of many staff members. However, the existence of Kim Sae-ron, who caused controversy over drunk driving, was the biggest stumbling block. However, I made a decision for the work. 'Hounds' will be released in 190 countries around the world on the 9th. Global viewers are curious about how they will react to Kim Sae-ron, who may feel uncomfortable.
