JTBC's Saturday drama 'King the Land' expressed its position on criticism that it distorted Arab culture.

On the afternoon of the 10th, an official from 'King the Land' told Ten Asia, "The characters, regions, and place names appearing in the drama are fictional settings, and there was no intention to caricature or distort a specific culture." He added, "The production team respects various cultures and will pay more attention to production so that there is no inconvenience in viewing."

Earlier, in the 7th and 8th episodes of 'King the Land', which aired on the 8th and 9th, Arab prince Samir (played by Anupam Tripathi) appeared and drew a triangle between Gu-gu (played by Lee Jun-ho) and Angelang (played by Im Yoon-ah). .

Arab prince Samir appeared surrounded by women in a bar. Then, he fell in love with Cheonrang at first sight and was depicted courting her while drinking wine together.

After the broadcast, criticism from global viewers followed. International criticism site IMDB gave it a 1-star rating, and reactions such as "ignoring Arab culture" appeared.

'King the Land' is the story of a man who despises laughter (played by Lee Jun-ho) and a smile queen (played by Im Yoon-ah) who has to laugh to create a day where they can really smile brightly at the VVIP lounge Kingdom, the dream of hoteliers.
