ILLIT Rises as a Powerhouse in the OST Scene with New Releases
ILLIT, consisting of members Yoona, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha, recently released their digital single 'Bubee' in both Japanese and Korean versions. The Japanese version has been chosen as the opening theme for the TV anime 'Magical Sisters Luluto Lili', captivating both anime and music fans.
Upon its release on the 6th, the song quickly climbed the ranks, entering the top tier of Oricon's 'Daily Digital Single Ranking' and securing the number one spot on AWA Music's real-time rising chart. This achievement was made solely through the music, without any accompanying music video or promotional content.
ILLIT's OST prowess was proven last year. Their song 'Almond Chocolate', created as the theme for the movie 'I Don't Like You Just Because of Your Face', not only climbed back up the Japanese charts but also enjoyed long-term success. It was the only song by a foreign artist to win the 'Excellence Award' at the 67th Japan Record Awards. In Korea, the song's popularity led to the release of a Korean version and subsequent music show promotions.
The agency explains that the industry's focus on ILLIT is due to their unique trendy sensibility and clear vocal tones. Their voices amplify the atmosphere of youth romance films, dramas, and lively animations that are popular among the 10s and 20s demographic. The group's strong global fanbase and mass appeal are also attractive elements.
ILLIT is set to release their 4th mini-album 'MAMIHLAPINATAPAI' on the 30th. The album explores the honest inner self amidst the various emotions that arise as relationships deepen, embracing even complex feelings. They will unveil the 'FREE RIDER' version concept photo on the 14th at 8 PM, heightening anticipation for their comeback.
