KATSEYE to Perform at Lollapalooza South America: A Rising Star in the Global Music Scene
KATSEYE will kick off their South American tour on March 13 at 'Lollapalooza Argentina' held at the Hipódromo de San Isidro in Buenos Aires. The following day, they will perform at 'Lollapalooza Chile' in Santiago's Parque O'Higgins. The group will conclude their South American festival schedule on March 22 at the Autódromo de Interlagos in São Paulo, Brazil.
'Lollapalooza South America' is one of the world's most renowned music festivals, attracting over 400,000 attendees annually. Known for its passionate South American atmosphere, this year's lineup includes global artists like Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and Tyler, The Creator. KATSEYE is prominently featured just below these headliners on the festival poster, showcasing their impressive presence despite being a relatively new act.
Last August, KATSEYE made waves with their powerful performance and strong live vocals at 'Lollapalooza Chicago,' the festival's original location. Their performance was witnessed by approximately 420,000 people, both in-person and via online streaming. This exposure paved the way for their first solo North American tour, 'The Beautiful Chaos Tour,' which sold out all 16 shows across 13 cities.
KATSEYE's influence continues to grow on major global music charts. Their second EP, 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS,' saw the track 'Gabriela' peak at No. 21 on the Billboard 'Hot 100' following their festival performances. Released in January, 'Internet Girl' also entered the Billboard 'Hot 100' and reached No. 24 on the UK 'Official Singles Top 100,' marking a new high for the group.
The group's enduring popularity is noteworthy. The EP 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' climbed to No. 43 on the latest Billboard 200 chart (dated February 14), marking its 32nd consecutive week on the chart. It also maintained strong positions on the 'Top Album Sales' and 'Top Current Album Sales' charts, ranking at No. 13 and No. 11, respectively. 'Gabriela' and 'Internet Girl' have spent 28 and 4 weeks on the Billboard 'Hot 100,' respectively, receiving widespread acclaim.
Formed through the audition project 'The Debut: Dream Academy,' KATSEYE is a prime example of HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk's 'multi-home, multi-genre' strategy. Recently nominated for 'Best New Artist' and 'Best Pop Duo/Group Performance' at the 68th Grammy Awards, KATSEYE is set to perform at the 'Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival' in April following their 'Lollapalooza South America' appearances.
