K-Pop Star Jeong Dong-won Releases Remake Album Ahead of Military Enlistment
Jeong Dong-won's new remake mini-album, 'SoPumZip Vol.2,' will be unveiled on various online music platforms at 6 PM on the 5th. This album marks his first release in about a year since his full-length album 'Gift of a Tall Man' in March last year. It continues the 'SoPumZip' series that began in 2023, showcasing a deeper emotional resonance.
The album features double title tracks, including 'Crossing Today, Meeting Again Tomorrow' and a remake of Byeon Jin-seop's iconic song 'Back to You Again.' The new song 'Crossing Today, Meeting Again Tomorrow' is a folk-style ballad offering comfort to those who are wandering. 'Back to You Again' maintains the original sentiment while being reinterpreted with Jeong Dong-won's unique, gentle voice.
Additionally, the album includes remakes of beloved classics from various generations, such as Jo Hang-jo's 'Lie,' Kim Kwang-seok's 'Letter from a Private,' and Kim Jeong-su's 'You.' Each track preserves the original's emotional impact while incorporating a modern twist.
This album serves as a farewell message from Jeong Dong-won to his supporters, as he is set to enlist in the Marine Corps on February 23. It conveys gratitude for the shared moments and promises of future reunions.
On February 4, a teaser video featuring behind-the-scenes images of the live clip for 'Crossing Today, Meeting Again Tomorrow' was released on his official YouTube channel, garnering attention. In the video, Jeong Dong-won appears in casual attire, creating a warm atmosphere and heightening anticipation for the full release.
Following the album release, Jeong Dong-won will hold a fan concert at Ilsan KINTEX on February 13, providing an opportunity for direct interaction with his fans. After this event, he plans to fulfill his military service obligations.
